Mary Kate Out Takes, Tank Magazine November 2008 magazines

If these are what the out-takes for Mary-Kate’s Tank Magazine November 2008 spread look like, then I don’t want to know how the actual editorial looked. Okay, I posted it anyways. Sorry if this crushed anyone’s self confidence. Why can’t we all be this fabulous all the time?

MOMENTS OF STYLE: Mary-Kate Floats On By

MOMENTS OF STYLE: Mary Kate Floats On By moments of style
I backed my car into a cop car the other day
Well he just drove off sometimes life’s ok
I ran my mouth off a bit too much oh what can i say
Well you just laughed it off it was all ok

And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on any way well

Well, a fake Jamaican took every last dime with that scam
It was worth it just to learn from sleight-of-hand
Bad news comes don’t you worry even when it lands
Good news will work its way to all them plans
We both got fired on the exactly the same day
Well we’ll float on good news is on the way

And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on ok
And we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on
Now don’t worry we’ll all float on
Alright already we’ll all float on
Alright don’t worry we’ll all float on

And we’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on
Aliright don’t worry even if things end up a bit to heavy
We’ll all float on alright
Already we’ll all float on
Alright already we’ll all float on
Ok don’t worry we’ll all float on
Even if things get heavy we’ll all float on
Alright already we’ll all float on
Don’t you worry we’ll all float on
All float on

Mary-Kate Olsen: A Walking, Talking, Breathing TrendSpark

Mary Kate Olsen: A Walking, Talking, Breathing TrendSpark all indieMary Kate Olsen: A Walking, Talking, Breathing TrendSpark all indieMary-Kate OlsenMary Kate Olsen: A Walking, Talking, Breathing TrendSpark all indieMary Kate Olsen: A Walking, Talking, Breathing TrendSpark all indieI’ll be honest with you, I envy Mary Kate Olsen. No, I’m not bitter that the girl was world famous for saying “you got it dude,” becoming a multi-millionaire before her first birthday. I’m not jealous of the fact that she has an equally successful identical twin sister who aids Mary Kate in pissing off PETA. I could care less that she had a fling with our handsome departed Heath Ledger. What I do covet, however, is this girl’s immaculate roll out of bed, get dressed in the dark, pile on mismatched accessories style and how well she pulls it off.

People may poke fun at her style, saying she looks like an anorexic crack-head, but I love it. For some odd reason, the girl always looks disheveled, thrown together and homeless, but stunning, fashionable and worthy of Fashion Indie’s praise. I would like to consider Mary Kate the pioneer of the bohemian, mod-vintage look, a look that seems easy to pull off, but takes mastery that only this Olsen has. There is no denying that Mary Kate looks good in whatever she wears, with or without styled hair, rips or no rips, baggy or tight fitting. If only Mary Kate still attended NYU…I could hunt her down, grovel at her feet and ask her to teach me her ways.

Trendspark: Round Sunglasses all indie

There’s something about these absurd cartoon-John Lennon-Doctor Octopus sunglasses that I love.  You definitely need the right face shape and size to pull these off.  I must have them before Mary-Kate gets her pupils on them and continues her monopoly on the round sunglass market.

Runway Review: Jenni Kayne

Runway Review: Jenni Kayne emerging fashion

Jenni Kayne presented her collection yesterday, but was absent from the actual show because of the impending birth of her first child. Kayne, who hails from my hometown of Los Angeles, presented a collection that was quintessential L.A. chic. Jenni, who is friends with the Olsens, presented an updated, more polished version of 80/90’s favorites like power suits (minus the shoulder pads) and Ray Bans. She mixed this will L.A. standards like simple floral shift dresses. All and all a perfect collection for the Nicole-Mary-Kate-Mischa-set
