Bad news, kiddies. The Kardashian sisters are kissing their credit card venture goodbye.

When the Connecticut attorney general announced he would be investigating the card for predatory fees, the Kardashian sisters wasted no time in walking away from that disaster because the card “might violate” a few laws. Evidently the termination letter describes the Kardashians as “honest, ethical and fun-loving.” For those of you who didn’t attend law school, in legal speak, “honest” reads as “cleavage-y” and “ethical” as “fame whores.”

Remember when we discovered that the Kardashians were teaming up with Mastercard for a prepaid dedit card marketed for teens? Well, it turns out that owning a card with Khloe’s face plastered on it is going to cost your more than your dignity.

We may not be financial experts but a quick glance at the pricing chart available on the official website reveals suspiciously high numbers. Basically, there is a $99.95 12-month fee for using your own money. Why, so I can look at Kim’s cleavage every time I whip that card out? Think I’m going to go ahead and pass on this one.

Kim has teamed up with Mastercard to launch a new prepaid card for kids as young as thirteen, marketing the product as a better way to track your children’s spending. This is good news, because by the time these kids have learned that credit credits are not real money and can sustain a lifestyle they cannot afford, the economy will have stabilized enough that we can once again watch the fiery explosion that will be the impending credit meltdown. Seriously, when I have kids, they are going to learn the value of the dollar the hard way: I’m cutting them off at age 18 months. What? You think money just grows on trees?

But really, you can’t help but wonder… Is the alignment of card’s launch date with the opening of the new Dash Soho location really just a coincidence? Kim’s no dummy.

For the most part, the fashionable set chooses exclusive credit like the AmEx Centurion — the oft-envied black card crafted from titanium instead of mere plastic. But as of March of this year, Roberto “Excess is Success” Cavalli is trying to get in on the action with a snakeskin-finish credit card for the discerning shopper.

The iridescent card comes with its privileges: special sales at Cavalli, invites to fashion shows. Perhaps card members will gain access to Cavalli’s new club in Florence or clubs soon to open in Dubai and Milan.
