STREET HEROES: Fighting

I love this look! The gloves alone are beyond amazing, but you add the Henrik Vibskov/Matthew Williamson over-sized sweater and you have perfection! I can barely see the leggings, but I’m dying to know what she has on her feet!

BASH: Sonia Rykiel x H&M Collection

Ever since last year’s Comme des Garcons x H&M collection, I’ve gotten pretty excited to see new collaborations hit the streets…Sonia Rykiel is an exception. H&M’s newest collaboration may be a bigger disappointment than the Matthew Williamson collection (and that’s saying something…) Really, H&M didn’t need Sonia Rykiel’s expertise to produce these boring, poorly executed pieces. This is definitely a collection worth passing on…unless you’re in the market for a hoodrat, gold onesie.

London Fashion Week Begins Today

London fashion week, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, begins today.
DESIGNER TO KNOW: S***R Shoes

Corey and I just got back from Capsule, and while we were incredibly impressed with the majority of the collections present, we both had a little soft spot for S***R Shoes. S***R has provided kicks for Thom Yorke of Radiohead to Orlando Bloom and even Matthew Williamson! Gathering inspiration from the iconic James Dean, S***R shoes have a recognizable look with the modern convenience of a rubber sole. But S***R Shoes are anything but sneakers. Made from the finest suede and leather, S***R has a variety of amazing boots, oxfords, lace-ups and saddles totally worth getting your feet on!

Leigh Lezark is a Muse

We’ve been hearing the name Leigh Lezark a lot lately, and recently she’s been deemed Matthew Williamson’s new muse. Apparently, she’ll be working hard to inspire Matthew’s upcoming collections, accompany him to events and lending a rock n’ roll edge to a label generally worshipped by those of the boho-chic persuasion.
TONIGHT Spring Soiree Sponsored by Matthew Williamson

Completely insane how much attention Matthew Williamson is getting these days (though a little birdie told me he may be on his last leg). Tonight the designer hosts a Soiree to benefit the National Academy Museum. Tickets are $125, but I’m sure with the right attitude/dress/story you can crash your way in.

WTF!?! Matthew Williamson For H&M Commercial #fashionfail

I definitely wasn’t the biggest fan of the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection, but moreover, I’m not a fan of the commercials. To promote his summer diffusion line, Williamson let pink ponies, neon astroids, shoddy electronic music and poorly dubbed voices do his selling. This commercial is in no way representative of who Williamson is as designer and is obviously the doing of H&M, attempting to cater to the stimulus hungry American population.
Things learned from this commercial: If an astroid hits, Matthew Williamson will appear. Rolling around in runoff ground water is not sexy. The diffusion line is still ugly.

Matthew Williamson for H&M Men’s Summer 2009

With the Matthew Williamson for H&M completely ransacked last week, It’s safe to assume that customers want more, more, more. Come May 14th, not only will there be the collab’s summer collection, it will debut many of the men’s pieces. But don’t be fooled boys, Williamson’s menswear is just as vomit-inducing, expensive and gaudy as those awful dresses people went ga-ga over. While the studded bomber jacket and tan sear-sucker suit have potential, I find it hard to believe that either pieces will be of substantial quality to even be impressive. In addition, the pixel prints, rainbow trimmed jackets, zip-ups and scarves are far too feminine for any guy. Oh, and anyone else pick up on the guido vibe? All in all boys, here’s a collection I’d steer clear of…unless of course, tasteless brights are your thing.

Speaking of H&M…Missoni To Do Collaboration?

Oy viegh! Another one? Angela Missoni, chief designer behind the zigs, the zags and the knits, was rumored to have said that she “would like to do something with H&M because it is a very powerful way to reach younger girls now.” But before you lose bladder control, let it be known that this quote remains sourceless and with the release of the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection tomorrow, a collaboration like this probably wouldn’t hit shelves for at least a year. And I hate to break it to you, but I highly doubt the zig-zag pattern will translate well on cheap cotton garments.
Thanks Pipeline!
Tomorrow, Tomorrow, You’re Only A Day Away

For those of you in great anticipation for the release of the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection, tomorrow is your day! Be prepared for bright colors, bold patterns as well as some funky jewelry and accessories. Similar to the pricing of the Comme des Garcons for H&M collaboration, prices will range anywhere from $25 for accessories to about $350 for the beaded maxidress.
Not sure if you should all in sick? Is it worth waiting in line during tomorrow’s forecasted rainstorm? Well, here’s my opinion. If any of you recall my post bashing the prices of the Comme des Garcons collaboration, this collab isn’t any different. Personally, I think the line is tacky, looks cheaply made and not a single piece deserves a price tag over $80. Though I’m all about the bold pantsuit for the spring, I simply can’t imagine that the Matthew Williamson for H&M one will fit properly or even be quality made.
But for those of you rushing to the nearest H&M to snag the silk tunic you’re dying to toss over your bikini this summer, please, let us know, was it worth it?

ADDICT: Daria for Matthew Williamson x H&M

H&M regularly has ads that are a lot better than you’d think a chain retailer would have. These ads are no exception, as Daria Werbowy stars in the summery campaign for Matthew Williamson’s collaboration with H&M.
The Asian-inspired styling of this shot is highlighted wonderfully by the incredible colors.

Ginnifer Goodwin Wears Matthew Williamson for H&M

One of the perks of being a celeb is that you get to wear clothing that is not yet available to the public, which really pisses me off. I have been looking forward to the MW for H&M collection since it’s announce back in Nov (mostly cuz McQueen for Target was so dissapointing) and it’s just not fair for a celeb to get thier hands on pieces that I can’t buy until April 23…
The above sequin dress will set you back $200.

Ksubi: Spring 2009 Collection

Today has been a great day of blogging for me so far. I have been lucky enough to get to write about some of my favorite designers, and Ksubi is just another to add to the list. The latest Spring 2009 Collection is getting ready to hit stores, and I am very excited as usual. Correct me if I’m wrong but it has a bit of that Matthew Williamson vibe to it? Love the collection, hoping that I can get some cash in my pocket to buy a couple pieces.

SNEAK PEEK: Matthew Williamson for H&M

Info on Matthew Williamson’s line for H&M has been emerging slowly over the months.
The collection debuts in stores April 23, and the latest updates are some sneak peeks at a few of the pieces, as well as a scan from Dutch ELLE. There are several silk pieces — blue silk suit, tan silk jumpsuit, and a silk dress — along with a sequin minidress and a peacock-print dress.
The jumpsuit, above, follows Alexander McQueen’s McQ for Target capri jumpsuit, but is more safari/resort and less utilitarian than McQueen’s. It’s more fashiony and less punk.
We’ll have to wait a bit to see how all the pieces fit — Williamson’s Solve Sundsbo-shot campaign (featuring Daria Werbowy) debuts in May.

FEATURED: ‘Clutching It’ by Shirley Warner

There are so……many great bags out this season that I sometimes actually feel a lightheaded when looking at them. I personally prefer a little, or should I say, ALOT of detail on my bags of choice. The focus is on clutch bags today and Here are just a few of my favorites. From top to bottom the designers are, Sonia Rykiel python clutch….Roberto Cavalli snakeskin and diamante clutch (EXQUISITE)….Roberto Cavalli black jeweled clutch….Proenza Schouler Pochette’s x 2….Missoni Snakeskin clutch….Matthew Williamson python Pochette….Judith Leiber x 2 (love the cupcake)….Dries Van Noten x 2….Bulgari….Alexander McQueen x 2 (love, love, love the fringe clutch). The “jeweled daisy” clutch has a beautiful vintage look and is a sure favorite. Enjoy the view!
