In New York it is literally the hottest day in the history of the world. Or at least it feels like it. So with temperatures nearing 100, why not cool down with a little dip?

Of course you might find it hard to cool down with some of these guys getting you hot under the collar, but I think they’re worth the risk of heatstroke.

Elle UK wanted to know how Gwen Stefani does is all – wife, mother, fashion designer and musical diva. So they asked longtime friend Shirley Manson to find out for the April 2011 issue. Photographed for the spread and cover by Matthias Vriens-McGrath, Gwen rocks glamorous garb from Prada, Yves St. Laurent and Louis Vuitton with her quintessential edgy take. All of the pieces look amazing on her and fit like they’re custom-made; stylist Andrea Lieberman certainly came to work that day. Though tamer than some of her past spreads, Gwen shines in these simple and elegant photos.

In Daron Aronofsky‘s Requiem for a Dream, Jennifer Connelly is forced to fellate a room full of men to feed her dirty drug habit. Photographer Matthias Vriens-McGrath captures the mood of that scene, only with hot male models and androgynous model Ana Catharina playing Connelly’s part. Suddenly, sex for drugs doesn’t seem so bad an idea.

But then again, when has it?

Timothy Reukauf styled the boys, including Sean Sullivan, Duke Dlouhy, Joel Rush, Steve Boyd and Greg Plitt, and Ana for S magazine. I need a shower after looking at this editorial, and that’s how you know it’s good. Get ready to get your mind dragged through the gutter.

Behati Prinsloo goes for the thigh high boot trend (that I absolutely love for fall) in the October issue of Flair Magazine. Matthaias Vriens-McGrath shot this “Santa Monica, CA” spread, but I really want to give props to the stylist, Sally Lyndley, because the wardrobe in this spread is absolutely amazing.

This spread gives you a good look at the Prada over the knee wellies (out of the water!) and plenty of other thigh high boots – pretty unexpected on the beach. The tousled hair and bulky sweaters are more fitting, especially on breezy beach nights, my personal favorite time to visit. This laid back spread was shot by Matthias Vriens-McGrath.

What year is it? Winona Ryder appears to be attempting a comeback, and has landed the July 2009 issue of ELLE UK.

Matthias Vriens McGrath photographed her in a D&G corset and black nails. The cover is bright, pretty straight-forwardly Spring, and Winona is still looking good! Can’t wait to see how they styled her editorial.
