Anna Wintour has been credited/blamed/lauded/criticized for the current proliferation of celebrity-driven magazine covers of the past 15 years or so. Love it or hate it, a model has a better chance winning a Pulitzer than landing a U.S. Vogue cover — with a few notable exceptions. While stars are rightfully and contractually beautiful, however, not all of them can cut the couture mustard. Then there are those ladies who love the camera and the camera is kind of obsessed with them. British Elle made a good cover girl choice for the December issue. Kate Beckinsale looks great in a MaxMara tuxedo jacket and Louis Vuitton platform pumps. In the spread shot by photographer Matthias Vriens, she looks young and fashionable, even without any pants!
