<p>To celebrate then end of our music month here are 10 trendsetters from the hip hop world.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-200051" href="http://fashionindie.com/the-ten-most-fashionable-artists-in-hip-hop-history/my-pictures32/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-200051" title="HipHopLegends" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/My-Pictures32-560x387.jpg" alt="The Ten Most Fashionable Artists In Hip Hop History" width="560" height="387" /></a><span id="more-200049"></span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vaN01VLYSQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vaN01VLYSQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>1. <strong>Salt-N-Pepa</strong></p>
<p>Now let&#8217;s talk about these ladies. You were not fly girl in the late 80&#8242;s and early 90&#8242;s if you didn&#8217;t model your style after Salt-N-Pepa. They completely revolutionized music by proving they were just as good as male MCs and could look damn good doing it. Not being afraid to embrace their sexuality, they paved the way for artist such as Nicki Minaj. (See below)</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PWgvGjAhvIw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PWgvGjAhvIw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>2. <strong>Outkast (</strong>Andre 3000)</p>
<p>Andre 3000 has 2 distinct styles: urban dandy &amp; funk soul brother. He always look amazing regardless whatever he decides on. With a mix of his fashion sense and interesting flow he&#8217;s created some visually exciting videos.</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hHcyJPTTn9w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hHcyJPTTn9w?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>3. <strong>Missy Elliot</strong></p>
<p>Missy is all about a stunt and a show. Let&#8217;s be honest, that blowup jumpsuit was brilliant.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/otCpCn0l4Wo?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/otCpCn0l4Wo?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>4. <strong>MC Hammer</strong></p>
<p>I personally blame this man for the question that plagues me every day: <a href="http://fashionindie.com/hombre-hot-or-not-drop-crotch-pants/" target="_blank">Should I buy harem pants?</a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pSFyrrhKj1Q?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pSFyrrhKj1Q?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>5.<strong> Nicki Minaj</strong></p>
<p>Ms. Minaj is a modern day hip hop Barbie. She&#8217;s completely fearless when it comes to her appearance. (I can personally attest to that) She might be one of the only rappers who can wear a Dior haute couture dress and make it look bad ass and uber sexy.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pzu3M86gja8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pzu3M86gja8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>6. <strong>Sean Combs</strong> (Diddy, P.Diddy, Puff Daddy)</p>
<p>Now whatever name he goes by the man still has unlimited swag. My favorite incarnation of this mogul was in his 90&#8242;s Puff Daddy phase when he was dancing around in shiny suits. (My mother refused to buy me one)</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l-O5IHVhWj0?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l-O5IHVhWj0?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>7. <strong>Run DMC</strong></p>
<p>If anyone could make white Adidas and gold rope chains chic it would be these guys. Not only are they hip hop legends but  they will always be considered fashion icons.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/L53gjP-TtGE?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/L53gjP-TtGE?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>8. <strong>Kanye West</strong></p>
<p>It would be blasphemy if I didn&#8217;t include Kanye in this post. (Wouldn&#8217;t want him pulling another VMA style incident) Kanye went from super preppy, to super dandy, and now mega fashionisto. Whether he&#8217;s wearing designer sneakers or womens blouses you will notice him.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2jcezrzcqns?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2jcezrzcqns?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>9. <strong>Cee Lo Green</strong></p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t like Cee Lo&#8217;s style then he will probably give a big &#8221; Eff You.&#8221; His costumes are truly wild. How many guys do you know can dress up like a bird from the muppets and still look cool?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jW3PFC86UNI?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jW3PFC86UNI?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>10.<strong> The Fresh Prince (Will Smith)</strong></p>
<p>Modern pop culture might tell you that Jaden &amp; Willow Smith are coolest kids in town. This is true but people must remember that being cool is in their DNA. Before Will Smith was their daddy he was rocking the mic with is dope Philly style.<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<div style="text-align: left;">We&#8217;ve been getting a lot of questions from designers and media who are wondering how Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn compares to Brooklyn Fashion Weak{end}. We&#8217;ve decided to provide 15 ways in which our event kicks buttocks, while other Brooklyn based runway shows fail to impress. Hell folks, fashion is war and we&#8217;re always ready for battle&#8230;</div>
<ol type="1">
<li class="MsoNormal">Because 8 &gt; 2.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Because Fashion Indie rocks out harder than Amy Winehouse. We realize that might not be a good thing considering the emphysema thing but oxygen tanks are totally the next TrendSpark.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Because our celebrity appearances will be better than Paulie Shore and the &#8220;Oh Face Guy&#8221; from Office Space.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Because our models like to party. Like &#8220;Kate Moss&#8221; party, not &#8220;lame-ass second cousin who you never talk to who insists on inviting you to his graduation party&#8221; party.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal">Because Fashion Indie encourages scenarios in which you wake up belligerent after a night of sake bombs with a used Durex in your hand laying next to that random chick you were eyeing on the runway the night before.</li>
</ol>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">6. Because Fashion Indie sees no shame in choreographed dance breaks to &#8220;Too Legit Too Quit&#8221;.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">7. Because Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn is actually taking place during New York Fashion Week, you know that time of year when every editor and buyer in the known universe is in NYC.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://nicedeb.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/chuck_norris.jpg" alt="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" width="390" height="300" title="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">You don&#8217;t mess with this brand of bad-ass.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">8. Because Fashion Indie’s<span>  </span>designers are more badass than Steven Segal&#8217;s ponytail, Chuck Norris&#8217; beard and Jean-Claude Van Damme&#8217;s lack of acting ability combined.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">9. Because Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} satisfies less than a happy ending from a one-armed cavedweller from Narnia. See what I did there. It&#8217;s called Family Guy humor. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">10. Because Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} is going to get as much coverage as a Patrick Swayze bowel movement.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">11. Because Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn is going to have more downloads than naked Miley Cyrus pictures.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://api.ning.com/files/ug0OKsCHx4CUgV*evTgwd5Uc0IeUdr9EDY5XmxXrxOlvwhLv1*ojhM3wrO*w86VAKHWouj8apV-bO4tv4jtDn2TVlklERBOf/destiny_child.gif?width=400&amp;height=400" alt="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" width="400" height="400" title="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">12. Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn = Beyonce |  Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} = that two member of Destiny’s Child that got replaced by Michelle.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">13. Because if Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} was a girl you&#8217;d paper bag her.=</div>
<div style="text-align: left;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">14. Because Fashion Indie Weekend will get you laid. Corey promises&#8230; <img src='http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" class='wp-smiley' title="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;"></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">15. Because Daniel Saynt will be allowing Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn guests to take bodyshots off his rock solid abs.</div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter" src="http://api.ning.com/files/NjOrzPoQc1Xhf9fev1W7rJYIdQ1QqdkXNB4T4MNe2WwXp3dyJP4NCwT3Y4lAyHe6C3uzyKZnRKqdNJX55zWykqLo8P5tVzNx/daniel_saynt.gif?width=600&amp;height=433" alt="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" width="500" title="15 Reasons Why Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn Is Going to Make Brooklyn Fashion Week{end} Seem Like the Sequel to Glitter" /></p>
