So we decided on a half bob, graphic, sculpted, and masculine.”

All models had long hair and in order to create the faux bobs, the team worked tirelessly to create a braided section underneath the hair – an innovative interpretation of an anchor. Then the hair was side-parted and slicked back with gel. The length was rolled underneath and pinned into the braid, leaving the hairstyles still and stationary.

The looks were set into place by wrapping each bob with a hairnet before blow-drying. Result: slick, smooth styles elegantly crafted into perfect shape. “I really like simple hair and I was so excited that Michael’s team went with this look rather than just a bun or ponytail. This was a really smart take on those types of looks and it looked perfect on the runway,” Dennis concluded.

Lead Stylist: Dennis Lanni (for Art Dept)<br

As I watched the models walk down the runway my first thoughts were of how gorgeous the dresses were.

Very aesthetically pleasing. But as I continued to examine, I realized there was more, much more, to the design. The dresses are geographically versatile. I live in Hawaii, where I’m deprived of wearing the latest trends for fall/winter and I hate it. My closet is filled with greys and blacks, mostly long sleeves and sweaters, patiently waiting for the day (2.5yrs!) that we travel back to the mainland, never to return.

I found that Angel’s collection could most certainly be worn in all climates, all occasions, all seasons. The deep florals speak of exotic wonders, a garden party on a lanai, midnight on a tropical island. But I could just as easily see these jewels of a creation on a rooftop garden party in the middle of Manhattan, right around the time that the crisp Winter air is leaving the area and Spring has come to revive us from our hibernation. I see jewels, glamour, mysticism in these pieces. A playful oracle, prophesying the outcome of a beautiful new season.

More<a
