- Poor Jo-Ann Fabrics. There they were, just trying to unload some tacky fleece patterns on a craft-loving public, when Coach comes along and sues them for trademark infringement. Apparently, the luxury brand finds the elongated Os of a pattern at an Ohio-based Jo-Ann Fabrics far too similar to their Signature C logo and was afraid it would cause”consumer confusion.” Is someone flip-flopping or Birkenstocking into their local Jo-Ann’s really going to be that confused let alone know what Coach’s Signature C looks like?  Not when they have all that decoupaging ahead of them. [WWD]

Christina Aguilera is quickly becoming my favorite diva trainwreck, especially since everything’s relatively quiet on the Whitney Houston front. Apart from flubbing the National Anthem, nearly falling at the Grammys and passing out in Jeremy Renner‘s bed, Aguilera also called her brother’s girlfriend a whore and threatens to fire anyone who even suggests she might have a drinking problem. Xtina hasn’t inspired me this much since belting “Beautiful.”

I’m so pumped on America. Barack Obama delivered an optimistic, rally ‘em up for the good speech last night. And Michelle Obama wore an American designer, so Oscar de la Renta, calm the eff down. Not to steal the spotlight away from Mr. President, she went safe in a grayish white shift by Rachel Roy. As always, she looks ravishing. And I love what’s going on with her hair.

Seems like someone’s a little tiffed they haven’t been on the Fierce Lady’s speed dial. Though Michelle Obama may have hit the sartorial bullseye at the state dinner for Chinese president Hu Jintao — donning a red silk Alexander McQueen resort 2011 off-the-shoulder gown and appeasing even the harshest of critics (i.e. Cathy Horyn and Robin Givhan of The New York Times and The Daily Beast, respectively) — Oscar de la Renta was not impressed.
