Boutique Critique:: Début: Look 5

Edited by

All week you’ve seen the debut of this new column, Boutique Critique, and today brings our first shop Début to the final outfit. This look has a whole lot of that green buzzword about it: Sustainability. Storeowner Lisa Weiss runs her store to be socially and environmentally conscious with the small batch runs of new lines alongside handmade jewelry. Reaching even deeper, Début features several designers who take more radical steps to be sustainable. Such as Christopher Raeburn who takes the philosophy of repurposing to warrior status, and Monisha Raja who brings a whole new meaning to outsourcing with her line Love Is Mighty. Read ahead to see the most eco-loving look yet. And a dash of of pattern mashing.

Like what you’re seeing? Shop it all at 10% off at Début when you mention FashionIndie!

Top 10 Best Dressed Man Bands of All Time

Edited by

Music is just about the ultimate sensory satisfaction. The songs that enliven your soul are created by gods of rock that don’t dare stop at the auditory; the sensation is full faceted. L.A.M.B. Fall 2011: Classic Rock, Cultural Movements, Cool Looks

Edited by

Running just a touch later than fashionably late, I sprinted through Lincoln Center in my five inch platforms, scanned/printed my ticket and thank the fashion gods I had a seat! The Theatre was well beyond capacity for the 8PM show, and at 8:25 (eek!) they were refusing entry to the straggling standers and forcing photographers waiting for a no-showing Matt Damon on the runway back into the pit. A security guard helped me to my seat, ejecting the Standing ticket holder out of my spot. Moments later, fog poured onto the entrance of the runway and the blazing L.A.M.B. insignia that was roaring on the giant screen melted into a visual feast. Fabulites like Joe Zee, Taryn Manning and Christian Siriano got the fullest effect from the front row, but I was plenty pleased with my partially obstructed view from A-8-4. Gwen Stefani staged a show of six musically engineered fly-styled vignettes.

Uncle Sam Embraces the Rainbow

Edited by

In a 65-31  vote, the Senate abolished the ban on gays openly serving in the military.

This marks a historic day, ending “unfriendly fire” and could potentially mean better style for a group of notoriously unkempt military men.

How long ’til we see a Queer Eye for the Army Guy edition at bootcamp?
