The running film behind the DJ reminisced and recreated scenes from Dazed and Confused – think Parker Posy hollering, “Alright you little Freshman bitches. Air raid!” And then hosing down Wildfox-clad model freshman bitches, and driving around in cars the size of boats.

There was a dank playfulness in the air and it felt so Cal. Girls doing the no pants dance in shirts dedicated to the Stones and Hell’s Angels, and rose colored glasses enhancing the world of a floor length bird encrusted sequin topped column. And there were these shoes: a jagged architectural YUM.

The best friends behind the brand, Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon are inspired by the playfulness of childhood activities like sleepovers, dreams, and apparently hazing. LA sunnies have got the laid back vibe and chillin’ slouch down to a science. And I think the Fall they’re dressing just happens to be 72 and sunny.

The next night I went with a couple friends to the Belvedere party, which every model and their mother decided to attend. I should have known when I saw on the invite that the Misshapes were the DJs that it would be model central. But more importantly, vodka connoisseur, and one of my favorite memoirists, Chelsea Handler was there along with more former boss Ashley Olsen (no really I used to work for the Olsen twins, and no she didn’t remember me), Estelle, and Matthew Williamson. I really wanted to run up to Chelsea and tell her we’re secret BFFs, but fortunately I didn’t have that much vodka yet.

The good part is they gave us goodie bags with bottles of Belvedere so when we moseyed over to the Paper Planes party which was NOT open bar (tsk, tsk) we could use our bottles to doctor up some soda water on our own.

Nonetheless I loved the new issue. It was nice to see something super colorful and FUN for a change! I love fashion, but sometimes it just takes itself too seriously. But I digress. My new fav DJ Harley Viera Newton was shot by Fernando Lahoz and Walker Brockington for the issue. And she looks HOT!

Leigh Lezark is totally my fashion crush. For a short period of time while hitting up Misshapes in NYC I swore I wanted to bed her. Time has passed and the sexiest member of the DJ trio (sorry Geordon) has really made a serious name for herself on the fashion scene picking up celebrity buddies along the way like Agyness Deyn and Karl Lagerfeld. Truly love her.

On a sidenote, whatever happened to Misshapes.com? I was totally into the project and was hoping it would take off, but it seems like they haven’t been able to get a post update in like 6 months. Wonder if this is another thing the group has figured has run its course. Hey guys if you’re interested in getting someone to manage shit for you, feel free to call. There’s definitely some untapped potential that should be played with there.

Tory Burch has just hired Surface 2 Air to bring a fresh vibe to her collection. The Paris-based label will be moving into Burch’s studio and will be her official downtown “guru”.

This news is surprisingly exciting to me. The Misshapes Leigh Lezark is a Tory fan and other scenesters have been seen rocking her over hyped looks. Hopefully, the brand will bring some real cool to Upper East Soccer Mommies and Hampton House Wives.

No, their not going to be in a sequel to the vomitlicious Matthew Mcconaughey/ Sarah Jessica Parker expose on the seedy underbelly of mommas boys.  They basically failed to launch their own website, Misshapes.com

The trio of overrated, but justly praised DJ’s hosted a massive party at Santos Party House with Grand Life on Saturday to welcome the return of the site. Two days later and the site is down.  Guess their just being fashionably late.

But really, what will they post on this site?  Pictures of their parties?  Been there, done that, right?

If you missed the Hedi Slimane party last night, this one should give you a healthy dose of hipster angst.

Uniqlo and Misshapes. Weird.

The MisShapes, Scarlett Johansson, Kim Cattrall, Sally Hershberger, Marchesa, and Chris March have been tapped by Karl Lagerfeld to create a baquette for Fendi.

I was as shocked as many of you were, cause last time I checked the MisShapes were still irrelevant (I’m sure some of you don’t even know who they are. So here’s a refresher they are three “DJs” that would spin parties at Don Hills that attracted the “cool kids”.  Okay, the parties we’re actually pretty cool cause you might see Madonna or Hillary Duff some nights, but all and all they got played out pretty quickly cause no one wants to party with the same vapid people every week and then folks thought they were the shit cause they got in, which was untrue, cause it really wasn’t that hard to get in, you just needed to a) have a kilo of coke, b) blow the bouncer, of c) be a size 0 wear all black.).

The design partnership is fortunately for a good cause.  The customized tiny totes will retail for $2,500 on eLuxury.com starting April 17th and proceeds will benefit charities selected by each designer.  Hershberger’s giving to the ASPCA, Marchesa designers are giving to the Robin Hood Foundation, and the MisShapes are giving to the Deviated Septum Reconstruction Association (coke kills…your sinuses).
