Hussein Chalayan’s Light Metal Lover Palladium Revealed on the Runway

This morning, Hussein Chalayan showed Paris his mastery for Fall 2012. Known for using technological materials in his designs, like a dress that turns into a coffee table, or a dress that moves independently (which inspired one of Lady Gaga‘s Monster Ball gowns) this season he utilized the newest, lightest, strongest metal on the market: Palladium. He partnered with the International Palladium Board as part of their initiative to make the metal not only appealing for industrial, but also that of luxury. Hussein Chalayan muses on the collaboration, “It was very appealing for me to develop an idea inspired by the lightness and strength of palladium. This partnership was a very natural gravitation; I am interested in materials that are not automatically associated with clothing. This is what my work is about.”

The only pop-up we want from Lady Gaga is one that involves Nicola Formichetti and Boffo or Barney’s Gaga Workshop. Whoever fucked with our Mother Monster is going to have to answer to us, and her artillery of weapon-esque props. Attention Little Monsters! Mother Monster has bestowed a name upon the one celebrity perfume we’re seriously excited about. One year ago, Lady Gaga set out to make a fragrance that smells like “blood and semen”.  And now that work is complete. Though admittedly (and proudly), Gaga reports, ”Actually the perfume smells like an expensive hooker.” Just guess the name….

Lady Gaga Auctions Costume for Haiti

Lady Gaga is auctioning off a costume from her recent Monster Ball Tour to benefit Oxfam International as part of the Charitybuzz Heal Haiti Auction.

The costume is a sparkly skeleton bustier created by Gary Card, signed in purple by Gaga herself. Bidding is already up to $5,000, with 2 weeks left to bid. Full details can be found at Charity Buzz
