If you want a proper “Sex-Pop” song, you call Billy Steinberg, the man who started it all. Steinberg is famed for producing and jump-starting Madonna’s career with a little song called, “Like A Virgin.” Employing an ever so poppy beat, with the help of super producer Greg Kurstin, the colorful sounds could be described as Vanity 6′s “Nasty Girl” in the year of 2012. The guitar riffs paired with Lolita- esque tongue in cheek lyrics are a combination that even Miss Spears wished she had when she was eighteen. SEX RULES! A fun mantra, that every teen will be able to enjoy. Sky’s sophisticated vocals glide through an anthemic chorus which makes “Sex Rules” an underrated pop anthem for all of the oh-so-hip Valley girls and male DJs in the world.

Budget friendly options come from Nasty Gal, 80′s Purple and Urban Outfitters incase you thew yours out from the middle school days, when you weren’t allowed to get pierced and had to fake it until you made it. I’m still content to fake it, especially with all these amazing options.

According to Nasty Gal Vintage founder Sophia Amoruso, her home base of San Francisco is a goldmine to some of the most amazing vintage in the world (which you have the hippies to thank for, of course). What started out as a humble Ebay store is now a venerable clothing candy shop, filled with delicious, handpicked vintage goodies from the sixties, seventies, and eighties. Treasures run the gamut of dresses, skirts, rompers, shoes, glasses and other leftovers from fashion yesteryear. What I love most about this site is that the pieces have a pristine quality, making them look as if they were made today, instead of 20 or 30 years ago. It’s nice to see vintage that doesn’t look so worn, even if it does defeat the fashion purpose.

In addition to vintage pieces, Nasty Gal also features new items from labels such as Rojas and Costume Dept. If you got some bread to blow, I suggest doing it here.
