Imagine men in rolled-up jacket sleeves and capris, a casual alternative to suits, barreling toward you with intense looks and stripping off their sophistication and baring down to trunks for the finale. This was the Perry Ellis Spring 2012 show. The collection is perfect for brisk spring days, and the finale was a celebration of summer.

Unik (pronounced “Unique”) Ernest lived up to his descriptive moniker during our brief but enlightening conversation over lunch today. Brief because he had only a few hours before friends with names like Naomi Campbell, Rosario Dawson, Nigel Barker and Jamie Foxx descended on the Dream Downtown for his 40th birthday celebration. Enlightening because I learned about Unik’s charity Edeyo and their fourth annual fundraiser which also coincides with his birthday and has ever since he first started it four years ago with the purpose of helping the poor and disadvantaged children of Haiti.

Good God, the Jill Stuart spring 2011 collection is fantastic. In a room packed to the gills with eager fashionistas, young and old, the most cohesive, thoughtful line I’ve seen so far for spring was presented. More after the jump…

Don’t you wish you were in the middle of this male model sandwich? We partnered up with Nigel Barker and the Make-A-Wish foundation to grant wishes to two girls who wanted to be models for a day. We brought them gift bags filled all kinds of swag and of course some of our male models. MEOW!
