- Gianfranco Ferré's new owner, Paris Group, has given the label's creative directors, Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi the proverbial boot, citing sluggish sales. A retailer admitted they bought " a minimal amount of the collection for the sake of carrying the brand" but noted that "[t]here was almost no daywear and eveningwear was fairy tale, like something for the Oscars. It may work for a small, niche brand, but not for such a global brand.” Ferré is expected to skip a season until Paris Group  finds it bearings, though those bearings could also be found in the John Galliano label, which the Group may consider purchasing from LVMH. I wore this outfit yesterday to an event in the city. The top is a floral print shirt length dress from Forever 21, H&M Jeans and Nine West Shoes. I love the colors in the top and paired with the pink platforms gives this look just the right amount of color for summer. Some people go over board with pairing brights, but the blue and tan in the top, tones down the yellow and coral and by adding the pink shoes it allowed the entire outfit to pop.

I also finally did something different with my hair! I put my hair in bantu knots (straight hair twisted into little knots) and it came out like this. I had different size knots which is why my waves were varying lengths, but this was just the experiment. Practice makes perfect right?

This is the banner at the top of Nine West’s Hot Trends page. No caption, no explanation, no product.

The banners on the site’s other pages have pictures of shoes, of course. Or if there’s a person, she’s holding or wearing a Nine West product.

It took me a couple of minutes of research to figure out this guy is Nine West’s creative director, Fred Allard.

Does he have a foot fetish or something? Doesn’t he look a little too interested in which “hot trend” you’re most into?  Is Fred himself a hot trend?  He’s clearly a very talented man, but I had never heard of him, and his come-hither stare is freaking me out.
