Inspiration:  As an editor, it is your job to go beyond describing the clothes. You need to talk about a designer’s inspiration and the message that they are trying to convey. Ask yourself questions like: what is the designer trying to say? Who is this collection speaking to? and What is this collection saying about the world?  (Helpful hint: the designer’s inspirational story and background is typically provided in the program or you can get a quote from their PR representative).

What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?

When I had free time, I enjoyed going to the beach, the movies, traveling and working out. I have an extremely spontaneous personality, and I like to go with the flow.

What do you do to find calm during the crazy-filled fashion days?

If I have an hour to spare, working out is my outlet for relaxation and it de-stresses me.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Aside from food, splurging on an article of clothing for myself to complete my outfit, which makes me feel extraconfident.

I can always go for an extra-large pizza slathered with cheese. My other guilty pleasure is warming up homemade chocolate chip cookies and covering them in vanilla ice cream. I’m really an obese guy stuck in a skinny man’s body.

What was your last indulgence?

My last indulgence was during my recent trip to New York where I snagged a new pair of Marc Jacobs boots… and then I ate pizza.

What are you doing this weekend?

Friday, my amazing team is working out of our L.A. office and then we are covering events. Saturday is going to be my relaxation day, so I’ll spend time at the beach and pick out my L.A. Fashion Week outfits. Sunday I’m picking up three members of my New York crew, we’ll have a meeting, and then party it up in L.A. But, I can’t stay out too late since I have to wake up early to renew my passport at the Italian consulate.

Jill places the waistline real low with this dual texture leather-to-suede A line. Then there’s this Bambi-esque tight poncho – it’s opened at the sides so it could twist around to become a capelet. Digging the oversized formal hunter coat that hits just as the pleats begin on the dress beneath, and a fanny pack for the forest explorer is essential for hands free discovery. Ah, the golden pleats that rise in through the light orange glow moves magnificently.

Lucky for those weaker beings whom I have witnessed do the switch way too close to the location of a show, photographs of these occurrences are rare. So rare, in fact, that I have hardly found any. Perhaps this is a bigger secret than I thought… Be warned though, if I spot you changing out of your heels in plain sight of a fashion venue, I’m blasting your picture on the internet. Keep your shoe swapping antics hush hush, don’t make me spill your dirty little secret.

In other Fashion-Johnny Weir related news, he will be the featured “centerpiece” in Elise Øverland’s show at NY Fashion Week. He’s also teaming up with furrier Adrienne Landau to mastermind a fur coat, the likes of which we’ve probably never seen. Johnny’s unabashed passion for fur makes perfect sense. He lives on the ice. And he was probably Russian in a past life. “I love things that come from dead things,” said he on an episode of his Sundance reality show Be Good Johnny Weir. But please no PETA hating for Johnny. Just love.
