Odyn Vovk
VIDEO: Odyn Vovk Spring 2010 Collection

Literally the best show I have ever been to! Odyn Vovk held a super Gothic, super cool show at NYC’s St. Marks Church last night and boy am I glad I was invited. The collection is very goth metal, and the heavy guitar riffing music helped to create the perfect badass runway show. The show has inspired me to go back to my high school days when I was really into heavy metal and rock and roll (still am but I was obsessed then), but only this time much more chic and high fashion.
PS I think it is quite obvious that black is also the color for Spring too, no signs of color here.

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Odyn Vovk Fall 2009
Contrary to popular belief, you can never be too dark or dismal. Although Odyn Vovk’s Fall 2009 collection remains just as gothic as usual, the dirty grays and creams really enhance the sullen vibe that once was an all black outfit. Loving the gauze scarves against the leather jackets. And if the H1N1 virus keeps up, I’m totally getting one of those leather doctor’s masks!

Odyn Vovk: Fall 2009 Preview

Odyn Vovk has been taking the fashion world by storm lately, and for good reason. They have taken a formula created by the great Rick Owens, and more or less perfected it. The images I have seen of the upcoming Fall collection have the construction and style of Owens, with the creativity of Gareth Pugh. The combination is insane. Plus the images remind me of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Odeur A/W 2009
Swedish designer Odeur is quite good at bringing together the world of athleticwear and everyday clothing. A bit heavier on the the athleticism, these clothes are still very minimalistic and simple in their design. The label also shares a slight resemblance to Ukrainian line Odyn Vovk, with its bold shapes and brighter colors.
This collection is not available in the US, but can be found at a few online retailers, such as Grandpa.
Julius: Fall 2009 Collection

Julius is bringing the men’s fashion world another collection very much in the likes of a Rick Owens or Odyn Vovk, and this perticular men’s writer couldn’t be more excited. The super tight black pants and leggings lined up with a well fitting long coat is a look everyone should be able to appreciate. How fucking hot are the knee high boots!

Odyn Vovk: Fall 2009 Collection

This is the second article I’ve worked on today, and I am two for two with amazing content and designers. I’ve been raving about Odyn Vovk for a hot second, and I am always impressed with the work that is done. The collection is very similar to that of Rick Owens, and when you have a collection that is all black, people focus more on the sheer construction of the look. Say what you want about the deep dark looks, but they are pure genius.

DESIGNERS TO KNOW: Odyn Vovk

If your brand’s name means “One Wolf”, and you list your inspirations as the punk rock scene, Mexican food, gang bangers and skateboarders, I don’t care what you design I will back it wholeheartedly regardless. However in the case of Odyn Vovk, these inspirations resulted in a downright kick ass collection. I feel like if Alexander Wang made a men’s line this is what it would look like. I’m really excited about this brand, and I hope to see more from them in the years to come.
