As we wrap up our month of travel at FashionIndie, we’re reflecting on all the things we’ve learned about jetsetting in high style. Perhaps one of the most legendary, and trickiest, travel experiences is becoming a member of the Mile High Club. Though we’re not experts on this subject, we know a thing or two about how to properly dress for the occasion. With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ~~slumming~~ making their way to California for a three day visit on July 8th, WWD asked that rare animal, L.A.-based designers, what they’d like to see them in as they absorb the smog and “culture” of the lesser coast.

Seven for All Mankind‘s Michele Manz wants to stuff the royal pair in their designer jeans, while Kevan Hall offers Kate one of his statement-making gowns for a BAFTA red carpet event.

Unsurprisingly, everyone’s clamoring to pretend-dress the Duchess with Juan Carlos Obando envisioning her in a Halston moment and BCBG Max Azria giving a nod to Kate’s homeland with a tea-length dress.

My favorite look, however, comes by way of Rachel Zoe and her boundless love for Boho chic – a white blouse tucked into a maxi skirt. I’m sure she’d add 300 bracelets and a breastplate of necklaces, though people’s princess Kate would most likely eschew all that bling.

Meanwhile, poor Will has to settle for a board short and some T-shirts, the epitome of Cali style, it seems. Not that he cares — or anyone else for that matter — but if Kate Middleton goes from Alexander McQueen to wearing flip flops and beach hair, I will never forgive the West Coast. [WWD]

A great pair of sunnies will balance and highlight natural features. Check out the guide below for our recommendations on finding the perfect pair of sunglasses for your face shape.

Oval - Lucky you! People with oval-shaped faces look good in most sunglasses. But to best flatter and highlight your features, you should look for sunglasses that are broader than the widest part of your face. Go ahead, movie star, grab the biggest shades you can find. Square – The very architectural square face is characterized by a wide forehead and distinctive jawline and cheekbones. Heart - Almost like a triangle, the heart-shaped face is distinguished by a wide forehead, high cheekbones and a pointy chin. At first glance, I was immediately drawn to these Mosely Tribes x Oliver Peoples’ tribal beaded beauties… until I saw the price! $695?!? Are you out of your mind? I am familiar with the pricey cost of Oliver Peoples’ sought after shades, but this just has DIY all over it! In fact, stay tuned – I’m going to make my own pair and show you all next week!

Shirley Manson (singer of Garbage) looks awesome (especially for 43!). I feel like you don’t see many red-headed models, and she’s successfully repping the haircolor. I think she looks like a red Kate Beckinsale in that last shot..no? This is a random combo. of people with Elijah Wood (looking hobbitlike), but I think they look great together. Great job, Oli.

Oliver Peoples x Zooey Deschanel Sunglasses

Oliver Peoples decided to team up with the hipster princess Zooey Deschanel to design a few pairs of sunglasses. The shades are very Wayfarer-esque, but I don’t think anyone is really suprised by that at all. I think the glasses look great, but I think that the sunglasses market needs a make over. I’m concerned at how limited your options are when it comes to styles. I have been in the market for a new pair of shades since my Marc Jacobs from last year have taken quite the beating. Upon shopping around, I have realized I only really have two options, Wayfarers (no thanks!) or Aviators (I look dumb in 99% of them). BUMMER! Let me know if you indies have any suggestions.

Oliver Peoples x KVA Sunglasses

Oliver Peoples teamed up with Kris Van Assche to bring two amazing pairs of sunglasses. I prefer the cool turtle colored ones on the bottom, but regardless, if you own these you are all good in my book.
