Treading the line between art and fashion became the focus of mens and womenswear designer Eleftheria Arapoglou in her Fall 2012 collection for her label Digitaria. With “Mind Over Matter” her exploration is through fine cut and exchanging ideas. See how she’s making waves in the Art, design and editorial world.

Living in Greece and having been the Fashion Editor for the independent magazine OZON for three years while also curating festival fashion collective “Trash Art”, she has encountered many artists and designers worth the creative exchange. Beginning this week, a piece from her Mind Over Matter collection will be part of The Fashion Monsters exhibit at the Benaki Museum in Athens.

She studied design, and so she fuese the power of both her design and editorial knowledge in her work. On the literary side of things, for the Spring 2012 collection, “Binary Opposition”, she references Greek mythology in the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. This spread is slightly on the corny 80s side, but I can hear Joy Division playing subtly in the background, making everything okay. Greek magazine OZON played with the shadows cast by high street fashion by posing both a male and a female model in front of an awkwardly lit wall. Photographer Helen Eleftheriou shot models Maike and Fabien looking like the twins of unisex fashion. You don’t see too many Greek editorials using outfits of such avant garde inspiration, so this is quite pleasing to my eye.

Styled in the updated ’90s looks (Chucks, different denims), Lina appears to be in a pop-punk shampoo commercial.
