Miss Havisham Haunts in Haute Couture for Vogue Italia

Ever since Prabal Gurung sent Karlie Kloss stalking down the runway in his much-lauded Great Expectations-inspired fall 2011 collection, fashion has been noticeably obsessed with the decrepit glamour of that story’s ill-fated villainess, Miss Havisham. Still in her wedding gown yellow with age, Miss Havisham wastes away in her attic for years mourning her unrequited love and inflicts her cruelty on everyone unlucky enough to be around her. Think Anna Wintour if she was unemployed. Ah, but pain, sadness, insanity and a dress: that character has editorial written all over it. And for Vogue Italia‘s September couture supplement, Dickens’ demonic diva is once again referened in Paolo Roversi‘s hauntingly beautiful “The Haute Couture” starring Frida Gustavsson, Jac Jagaciak and Kristina Salinovic with styling by Lori Goldstein.

- Anna Wintour may finally, much like the rest of the world, be over Sienna Miller. Thanks to some car trouble, Sienna was a half an hour late to buddy Matthew Williamson’s fashion show. The designer ~~foolishly~~ kindly held the show for her, much to the chagrin of the Bobbed One who was seconds away from storming out and burning down the designer’s entire spring line. [Metro UK]

- Lindsay Lohan continues to be employable, if only by German fashion houses you’ve never heard of/care about. This can’t go well, particularly considering the first sentence of the press release announcing Lilo’s participation in Philipp Plein‘s spring campaign: “Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model.” Who are we lying to Philipp Plein? - Frida Gustavsson is GORGEOUS on Paolo Roversi‘s cover of Vogue Italia‘s Couture Supplement, giving us a little flapper chic and some serious face. [Fashion Gone Rogue]

- Designer Alice Temperley thinks London Fashion Week is better than New York Fashion Week and should be longer. Meanwhile, preaching to the choir, girlfriend. [Telegraph]

Carine to Star as a Couture Client for W

Carine Roitfeld is one busy gal. In addition to styling Chanel‘s Fall 2011 campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld and starring Freja Beha Erichsen, allegedly starting an independent fashion mag, musing for Barneys and allegedly starting her own fashion line, the former Vogue Paris editrix will step in front of the camera for a fashion feature in an upcoming issue of W.

Spotted Friday at the Givenchy mens show, Carine will once again be sitting front row at the July haute couture shows in Paris where she’ll be impersonating a client for W. Paolo Roversi is rumored to be shooting the story.

Meanwhile, this sounds even better than that Carine Roitfeld-inspired editorial a few months back, though one can only hope that they dig up “Cardboard Tom Ford” again. [WWD]

Kate Moss Goes on Display

An exhibit opens Friday at La Galerie de l’Instant in Paris celebrating supermodel extraordinaire Kate Moss.

Over 25 photographs taken over the course of her long, storied career will be on display until September 14th, including the work of Paolo Roversi, Mary McCartney and Corinne Day, who was responsible for discovering Moss at the tender age of 15.

I just hope my favorite picture of Moss will be part of the exhibit — a stunning portrait by the noted artist, Douchebag on Cell Phone. [WWD]

In possibly one of the sexiest spring/summer 2011 campaigns, model Camille Rowe wears nothing but a sheer shirt, white undies and t-strap heels for Cerruti. Photographed by Paolo Roversi and styled by Martine de Menthon, the female body is the main star in this advertisement. Just another hint that sheer is back in full force.
