Keeping a keen eye out for aging beads, lost lockets, and historical charms, Jesseca is always looking to rework, rearrange, and combine components of jewelry with a past. It is here that the drawing board begins; rather than starting at the sketchbook, with Jesseca it started with the ability to find treasure in another person’s trash. Growing up near the ocean, Jesseca says it’s no surprise that she’s ”intrigued by shipwrecks and the prospect of sunken treasure; particularly long-lost jewelry laying amongst the ruins on the ocean floor.” It is from this fascination that Paper Treasure was launched. The designer’s company features necklaces and bracelets with a historical past. Each piece is reinvented with widespread appearance of lockets and charms. The pieces each feature a more elegant side along with a splash of fun. Rather than just sticking to gold and silver, Jesseca lightens the pieces with colored components throughout the works as well. Pick up a Paper Treasure design and there’s no doubt it’s a great addition to any outfit.
