Next Tyra gives advice on how to JAZZ UP a trench coat and for any advice regarding the jazzing up of anything I am strictly ON. BOARD.

She suggests a wide cincher belt that she wants you to know — by yelling it over and over again — that it costs $12 at Payless. Doesn’t it feel good? And by wearing said trench with a statement necklace you’ll add a “little sex appeal” as well as some “snap and sass.” Finally zhush those sleeves and suddenly your trench has gone from “blah” to “Rrrr”  – it’s like Tyra is the poet laureate of our generation. Her or Nicky Minaj…

Anyway, André — sensing a lull — returns to discuss the history of the trench coat with Tyra still on his lap and along the way we’re introduced to the Word of the Day, “kicky.”

Isabel Toledo is set to design a line for Payless, due in stores this fall, which will retail for less than $40.“I’m designing shoes that you want to see women wear on a day-to-day basis, you’ll see a very clean, graphic design, very utilitarian. I’m really interested in making shoes that women can walk in. Even for the evening shoes, I’m trying to address comfort and high style at a great price.”

The new additions, which will be found under names such as Zoe & Zac and Unforgettable Moments, are set to hit the Payless stores starting September 1st. Probably not going to be your “go to” place for your favorite beauty products, but you never know!

Payless ShoeSource unveiled its designer label, Christian Siriano for Payless, with the designer at his fall ’10 runway show at New York Fashion Week today.  The shoes are designed to complement his Ready-To-Wear (RTW) and Siriano’s overall collection is inspired by 1960s Parisian women and their daily practice of getting dressed. His shoes pull strong inspirations from antique furniture from the 18th and 19th century with its filigree and clawfoot detailing.  A focal design from the runway collection is the Rocaille style — a platform pump featuring a signature artisan heel reminiscent of a clawfoot.   The collection is expected in Payless stores in September.

Since the new Hannah Montana movie made $34 million at the box office, it’s safe to say that her fan base of sugar high, musty young girls and horny, greasy palmed, lurkin’n'lonely old men couldn’t have given a hot colonic about the tragedy she unleashed at the actual premiere. There’s a stylist somewhere that deserves a glass of hot piss to the face for makig a lovely girl look like Penthouse ‘Hoe Dealin Of The Month’. Now no one told me Hannah Montana was going into porn! I mean, is this a showing for a Disney film or did we make a wrong turn and end up at a Jenna Jameson 4 hour featurette. I bet that dress comes with secret pocket filled with complimentary birth control snackin pills and flavored sugar free sexin rubbers. I mean it’s a Missoni, so I guess I should like it but for some reason I have the strong urge to tear up my mama’s house robe and make an attempt at couture, I mean a hoe rag……………and……………….and are those…………………are those Payless shoes?!?! Project Runway winner Christian Siriano debuted his first shoe collection Thursday at his runway show.

The line, a part of his accessory collaboration with Payless, is available online and in stores this September, and complements his Fall 2009 RTW collection.

The Egypt-inspired shoe collection of five styles (Slither, Saunter, SheDevil, Sand Strap and Strut) features rich browns and tough details like spikes, studs and chains.

Alice and Olivia has let loose their newest Fall ’09 collection for Payless. The shoes created for the line are designed to work in direct correlation to the clothing collection. With uses of buckles, studs, ribbons and more, the two collections work together in a perfect harmony. Throw on these pumps and you won’t regret it!

Setting the stage with rich fabrics and bright colors, Lela Rose kicked off her Fall ’09 collection for Payless. All of the shoes feature signature marks seen in a number of Lela’s other collections. The Fall ’09 line, taking inspiration from the forest, doesn’t fail to supply us with a ton of fun colors and bows.

As we’ve learned over the years, Lela Rose has never been one to shy away from rich, enticing colors; a point she proved yet again with the launch of her Fall 2009 collection at Bryant Park this morning. 

“I almost never wear black,” Rose says in a pre-show interview, “this is as close as it gets!” she smiles referring to her black and white checked dressed that is belted at the waistline and paired with sumptuous looking ankle booties in a rich indigo. Her ensemble, including her footware (a result of collaborative efforts between the designer herself and Payless Shoesource), are reflective of the style showcased throughout her collection. Deep, rich, jewel-tones took center stage alongside structured pattern-mixes as Rose demonstrated easy contradictions between dreamy feminine dresses and structured, practical separates.

Her inspiration for the collection? The rainforest conceptualized as “the jewel of nature.” This concept was translated to hair and makeup by Tina Turnbow for Stila and Ted Gibson for the Ted Gibson Salon. Skin was dewey and fresh with a focus on shimmery cheekbones and iridescent eyes. The emerald and jade green shades used on the models were reminiscent of a beetle’s exoskeleton. This beetle structure was translated to the hair in the form of tousled locks that were teased at the crown and slicked back into ladylike ponytails.

All in all Rose’s show was a delightful portrayal of her aptitude for balancing both the playful and the restrained.

I forgot about this!

We told you in December that Christian Siriano is teaming up with Payless. His collection of shoes and accessories will debut at his February 19 runway show.

He just released this sketch of one the clutches to let us know what’s in the works.  The collection, priced $25-$45, is reportedly “inspired by Egyptian artifacts with hieroglyphic details.”

Following in the …er, footsteps… of Alice + Olivia, Patricia Field, and Lela Rose, Christian Siriano is set to collaborate with Payless on a line of shoes and handbags.

The Fall 2009 line will debut at Siriano’s Fall 2009 runway show at New York Fashion Week in February, then sell at stores for $25 to $45.

This winter’s Payless designers holiday collections include shoes from Patricia Field, Lela Rose and Abaeté.  The Patricia Field ones look like the only shoes I’d get close enough to inspect.  The other ones are a little blah to me…

Ah, I finally got my Alice + Olivia for Payless Rivington Ankle Boots.

Black patent. Zipper. 4.5″ wedge hell. 1″ platform. Peep-toe. They’re so absurd that I’m in love them. It’s getting pretty serious. We’re already checking out china patterns and hosiery.

Watch out, Mary-Kate.

Patricia Field is designing a limited-edition clothing line for the Home Shopping Network. So now Field has design collaborations with Payless, Marks and Spencer, and HSN under her belt. Called Destination Style New York, the line, Field says, will be like the items in her store. “Anyone can go in and find something — it’s a store of items.” The 50-piece collection of sportswear, denim, dresses, and accessories even includes the white flower dress Sarah Jessica Parker wears in the opening of the Sex and the City movie. Or, if women don’t want to spring for the entire dress, they can just buy the flower as a pin. Other items range from a T-shirt dress printed with Field’s iconic Martine illustrations to a black and red rose-print dress with a patent-leather belt to a sequined blazer. Pieces will retail from $39 to $199. HSN will start promoting the collection in September during Fashion Week, and the line will go on sale only for five consecutive days starting September 23.
