I like people on the street with all their layering. So jeans was a grass roots movement that happened. But I barely wear jeans. I like TOMS because they make you have a purpose with you fashion choice. It’s the future. Some other responses from the crowd included little bracelets from Costa Rica that cost nothing here and yet provide a livelihood for someone across the world. Another likes to buy things from people in the streets, because it’s a better gig than begging. Sweaters help one guy feel better about the world, while his friend makes the argument for shoes. He also alleges that scarves are the least useful things. I asked one of the night’s coordinators, Sarabeth, her item? “Scarves. Especially this chiffon one right here. They are versatile and can travel anywhere.” It was a night of confronting differences, and embracing them.

Lindsey Wixon and I did not address my question. She did, however, tell me her favorite news source: BBC. She likes that they actually send reporters on location to report back with real footage. It’s not local, petty, cats-and-celebrity news at BBC; it covers real world issues.

Sean Ono Lennon meanwhile, has been doing his due diligence to learn about the issues on Wall Street. He expounded the inner-workings of artificial inflation, and that the state of corporations in this country is equivalent to a plutarchy, among other unjust notions. In that time he recommended two books: Temple of the Center of Time by David Flynn and Currency Wars by Song Hongbing. More than just a little night reading.

One of the deepest messages of The Awareness Experiment seemed to be to talk, engage and share with one another. Ask questions. Get into deep conversations with new acquaintances, let ideas bounce around, and leave your mind open to change. When we’re all open to listening to one another, we will evolve and make change happen.

Armani Exchange Neon Carnival: Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine took over a private airport on the outskirts of the festival and built a fully-functioning, Armani Exchange-branded carnival. In addition to the ferris wheel, giant slide and carnival games, they managed to build an outdoor club in the middle of the venue, complete with celebrities and bottle service. DJs Devin Lucien, Jesse Marco, and DJ Politik kept the energy high while young Hollywood danced the night away. Josh Hartnett, Paris and Nicki Hilton, Camilla Belle, Kellen Lutz, Penn Badgley, Tara Reid, Jamie Chung and Elijah Wood were just a few of our celeb spottings.

Belvedere Music Lounge: The Belve Music Lounge provided a peaceful oasis from the hot desert sun. Located at a private estate in Bermuda Dunes, the lounge had a refreshing pool, mini sand pit, cold cocktails, a fun photo booth and models in bikinis demonstrating the Belvedere shaker app on iPads. DJ sets were as sought-after as the festival lineup: The Knux, Taryn Manning, Dirty Vegas, Yacht, Punches, Blaqstarr, DJ Berrie, Junior Sanchez, Theophilus London and more spun for our pleasure. Our celeb spottings included Rosario Dawson, Brittany Snow, Laidback Luke and Miguel.

Lacoste: Lacoste L!ve, the younger, more fashionable crocodile, hosted a Pool Party that supported the efforts of The Voice Project foundation. Patron popsicles cooled us off while DJ Cassidy kept us dancing. Celeb spottings included Katy Perry, Alexander Skarsgard, Malin Akerman, Kirsten Dunst, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Adrian Grenier, Ke$ha, Lea Michele, Kelly and Jack Osbourne and Jared Eng.

PENN BADGLEY I’d give him a 3.5 because although he looks really good in the movie Easy A along side Emma Stone, for some reason he doesn’t always look attractive, must be some angle thing.

ANDREW JENKS I’d so live in the World of Jenks any day, he’s officially my new Tuesday night eye candy. I’d give this hipster-Indie boy a 4 because although he is ridiculously good looking, he sometimes picks to live the worst weeks of his life, or looks like a total dumbass on his show… example, ” spending a week in the life of a rapper” when he nearly got his ass beat. Total fail.

TAYLOR LAUTNER forget about team vampire or whatever, this boy is a hottie. Seductive and cryptic I’d give him a 5. Plus who wants to hook up with some pale glitter filled blood sucking thing.

JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT I’d like to file him under “shy boy who’s hot, but doesn’t quite know it”… those are always the best. Now aside from this disturbing happy trail we have going on here in his photo, let’s rate him with a 4 just for being adorable.

CHANNING TATUM let’s all admit it this boy can’t act, and totally gives of that “dumb” vibe but he’s hot so we’ll forgive  him. I’d rate this face with a 3 because getting to do great things like star in a movie with the beautiful Amanda Seyfried just because of your looks is total kudos in my book.

Oh Gossip Girl, as if the entire concept of your show wasn’t corny enough you had to take it to a whole new level last night. I mean since they first announced there was going to be a threesome on the show we all knew it wasn’t going to be anyone we actually wanted to see (or imagine) in a threesome (I had money riding on Mr. Humphrey, Eric van der Woodsen, and Blair’s sketchy step father for upset of the year…I was wrong).

Moving on, as you can clearly tell from the pic above is was Vanessa, Olivia (played by Hilary Duff) and Dan who hooked up, and it was horrible to say the least. I would have rather seen Duff’s old cast from Lizzie McGuire get down. This was clearly just a charity case plot twist added to the script late after Penn Badgely realized he had the most boring storyline of the season and some how managed to go from knocking boots with smoking hot Serena, to chubby chasing on a permanently bloated Hilary Duff. Can they just get her off the show already?

Oh and who else noticed the shameless plug for Leighton Meester’s bullshit music career? Talk about desperate attempt for press! Take the episode with the (shitty) threesome and let’s put my prison baby attempt at a Lady Gaga song in it, it’ll cause my music career to really take off!

And they wonder why no one watches this show anymore.

Hilary Duff made her first appearance in yesterdays Gossip Girl episode. The result is not very unexpected, but still tragic, and wearing something that better left unmentioned.Although Gossip girl could never clam to be an Emmy material, at least until now it was maintaining a certain level of style and looks. With Hilary on board, the show just might have lost that essence.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and understandably enough, the producers are  trying to put as many celebrity guests  on the set as possible to draw attention to the show. However when you don’t have a better package, at least make sure the wrapping is good!

I saw this trailer play before (500) Days of Summer on Monday, and I couldn’t help but think that Penn Badgley can’t be known as anything besides Dan Humphrey.  Now I know that he had acted before Gossip Girl, but do you think he can pull off any other role?

By now we have all seen the GQ cover with Jennifer Aniston rocking nothing but a tie, but how about the spread inside featuring Penn Badgely. The Gossip Girl star was featured in the magazine talking about his name and how he “barely” has to act to be Dan Humphrey (at least he admits that it’s a poor excuse for acting). If you couldn’t guess just by looking at the image, Terry Richardson was behind the lens for this spread, which would explain the balls in the hand and the blowing of the confetti load. The show may not be getting all the viewers they want, but their ad campaign have been great. The latest features the shows stars with different words fake graffitied over their faces. I love it! The anti-McCain ads are heating up, this time with the help of Gossip Girl’s stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively. Basically, they want you to talk to your parents about McCain, warning them about the dangers of voting for Senior Old Balls.

Seriously though, if Blake is willing to pick me up next time I think about voting for McCain, I might have to consider doing it more often.

When all is said and done Gossip Girl is going to be notorious for changing young under the radar stars into fashion icons. I found myself caught in a moment of boredom watching “John Tucker Must Die,” when I realized that Penn Badgley was John Tucker’s brother. I couldn’t believe how bad he looked, but apparently it earned him enough money to get a stylist and Blake Lively, and he has looked great ever since.
