For the longest, I’ve been obsessed with finding a particular style of harem pants. I bought a pair last summer with the elastic ankle; I’ve decided that I don’t like those anymore. I wanted specifically, the “covertible” type that you could wear as a jumpsuit or harem pants, to enjoy a bit more versatility (I can see wearing them year round; I envision how great they will look in the fall with a leather jacket). I did find them at a “trendy” store in my area, but they had some gaudy, swirl design on the right leg….I still don’t understand that! Anyway, I took to the internet yet again for a cute, yet affordable pair, and low and behold, there they were on freepeople.com! I somehow missed them in my past searches. They are marked down to $29.95 from $78, which makes them a really sweet deal. I immediately ordered them and am anxiously awaiting their arrival! The picture below is taken from the Free People website, as those the exact ones that I ordered. I must admit, I don’t like the way that they look in the picture with the top tucked in…..I prefer a fitted tank with a belt. I also plan to add the belt when wearing them as a jumpsuit. There were over 30 reviews on their site about them and all that I read were favorable….I can hardly wait to get them!

For her recent performance in Spain on Sunday, Rihanna went all in on the candy-colored locks trend,working with stylist Ursula Stephen to dyeher hair a bright, cherry red and upped the ante even further by shaving all but a mop top. In reading the feedback on her new look on various sites, the consensus is very much a big thumb’s down. But oh well, by now it should be patently obvious that Rihanna is not going the people pleaser route…entirely the opposite in fact. She and three or four of her peers are very much invested in making avante garde fashion looks a part of theirperformance package, andwhat’s fascinating is watching how competetivesome are over who came first, etc. (Kelis vs. GaGa vs. M.I.A.)Clearly they and their stylists are borrowing and beinginspired by each other, which is not at all a bad thing and actually great for fashion and fun to watch unfold.

Since Thursday People.com has emblazoned on their site that they will present the first photos of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s new babies, Knox and Vivienne. Now Gawker is reporting People Magazine has rushed out their new issue for Monday, a whole four days before its usually release. The spread is reportedly 30 pages long! Can you handle 30 pages of Brad, Angie, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne, and Knox? I suppose they want the most bang for their buck seeing that they paid close to $14 million of the pics! Ouch! Are they going to charge $20 bucks a pop for this issue?
I know that in between checking Fashion Indie for updates you’ll be eagerly awaiting the chosen two’s faces to pop up on People.com!
