Butt, at what cost? While gluteoplasty — i.e. butt implants — cost about a third of what they would in the U.S., some women risk everything, even their lives, in the pursuit of gluteal perfection. Duboc witnesses one of these surgeries for herself when a rather ravishing 45-year-old woman goes under the knife.  ”If you’re squeamish you might find it challenging to watch through til the end!” Duboc warns, and it really is harrowing/disgusting/vomit-inducing watching a doctor gingerly shove a piece of plastic into a sedated butt cheek. After all was said and done, however, Duboc admitted to feeling a bit of “ass-envy.”

5. Become an international superstar á la Nicki Minaj and Joan Rivers.

Nicki Minaj catapulted to fame with a bit of plastic surgery (and some irresistible tunes). A boob job, nose job, and, allegedly, butt implants later, she’s on top of the world shaking what her doctor gave her.

Joan Rivers’s plastic surgery is a conversation piece. And she typically makes it so. When not spearing celebrities for their awful sartorial choices, she’s standing up and joking about her ancient/brand new face. I mean, for 105, the woman looks fantastic.

- Vogue lopped off a few of Lila Grace Moss (Kate Moss‘ daughter)’s fingers in their September issue in a case of bad and badly observed Photoshop. I guess Anna is human after all. What a day of disappointments. [Styleite]

The good doctor warns that Bo-Bo is only licensed for the treatment of moderate to severe haggardness and should not be used in adolescents who, for the record, don’t even have wrinkles but facial expressions and, also for the record, “the two are not the same.”

See expressions lead to wrinkles, which is why the real key to anti-aging is being emotionally dead inside.

Doc McKeown points to the recent Faux-Tox scandal (totes ©ing that) starring Sheena Upton as Kerry Campbell, the negligent mother who doses her 8-year-old daughter with Botox to keep her smooth as the day she was born — which in this case was not too long ago — as a case of society’s unhealthy relationship with the needle.

While Campbell née Upton was only doing it all for the publicity (See! I’m a good mom, give me my kid back!), McKeown likens the drug to a status symbol for the younger generation — just look at the not-at-all disturbing Teen-Toxing craze.

Bling, Benzes, Birkins and Botox.

But beauty, the doctor insists, is like a fine wine that gets better with age…and he is about to pop a cork over Liz Taylor in her mid-30s:

“While Taylor was clearly always a beautiful woman from her teens onwards, arguably her looks did not reach their peak until she was in her mid-thirties. Had Botox been available to Taylor in her early twenties, would she have ever reached that same level of mature beauty for which she will now always be remembered? I suspect probably not.”

Oprah squeezing into some Chinese slippers the only way she ever could

According to ABC‘s Nightline:

“Podiatrist Ali Sadrieh in Beverly Hills, Calif., performs the toe shortening procedure, which involves actually dislocating the toe and sawing out a 2-millimeter chunk of bone. He then inserts a titanium rod to bring the shortened bone back together.”

That doesn’t sound so bad, right?

Right?

And think of all the pain medication and the Louboutins you’ll get. But if that sounds a little extreme, you can always opt for the good old foot plump, wherein fat is liposuctioned out of your gut and injected into the sole of your foot to make walking in heels comfortable.  It’s a win-win!

Still, a third option involves sucking the baby fat out of your baby toe, thus slimming it down, which I’m seriously considering. I haven’t worn a shoe pain-free in years and it’s all because of this goddamned pinky toe.

Though these procedures could lead to “permanent nerve damage, infection, scarring, a recurrence of the deformity that was supposedly fixed and chronic pain when wearing not just high heels, but all shoes” etc, etc, blah-dee-fucking-blah.

I say it’s worth it. My motto has always been, “In fashion, if it don’t fit, you gotsta snip.” Sure I may have accidentally sent a friend or two the emergency room, but they thanked me. Or at least they will once they’re discharged.

“Let me state once and for all that I am not against plastic surgery. In many cases, it is something that can so vastly improve the quality of life it actually saves it. And even in the more frivolous cases, I do not have a problem with a woman who chooses a teensy bit of this or that to make herself feel better, as long as she admits to it. Nothing galls me as much as age-defying celebrities who achieve their looks by ‘healthy food and yoga.’ I know this is bullshit. You may not. But I can guarantee we will both feel bad about the way we look, the way we have let ourselves go, when Michelle Pfeiffer and Demi Moore look not a day over 30.”

Maybe we should be teaching young girls that plastic surgery is not the only alternative. With “healthy food and yoga,” you may not look 25 when you’re 50, but you can feel good and look beautiful at any age. Ugh and I’m so over Demi Moore, it’s like she never began.

Britney might be the “pop princess” and got her oportunity to show up on Glee, but can we face it she’s getting old, when are you retiring?

These girls might be my favorite pick of “going down hill” ladies but can you just imagine how they’ll look in about ten more years, I’m still waiting for the plastic surgeries.

Yes, we know that plastic surgery always plays a major factor. But some stars continue to look younger than ever even without all the botox and face lifts. The whole vampire craze can’t seem to come to an end. Now even plastic surgeons have taken to the latest vampire trend. A new form of cosmetic filler, Selphyl, has been nicknamed the Vampire Facelift because it involves mixing a patient’s blood with a fibrin mixture and injecting it back into the body! Gross!

Though the reality star has said that she plans on getting several other plastic surgery procedures, she has recently stated that she is “good for awhile” and “surger-ied out”. Not sure if that’s her decision or the doctor’s orders; on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno last Friday, she said that legally she can’t get more surgery because she’s already a size 700cc and the limit is 800. Either way, I’m glad she’s giving it a rest.

And of course, she’s still claiming she’s not addicted.

We’ve been talking about this non stop since Heidi’s after surgery pics surfaced, and now I feel obsessed with her obsession! On one hand, we wonder why a healthy 23 year old would do this, and on the other we can’t help but understand her obsession with perfection (and achieving it the only way she knows how…surgery). After all, she was never the ‘HOT’ one on The Hills, competing with Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port. So, can we really judge her?

She looks good… for a 40 year old house wife from New Jersey.

Solange Magnano, the 1994 Miss Argentina winner, died on Sunday after complications from butt injections after the liquid went into her heart and lungs.

Though Ms. Crawford has repeatedly denied any serious plastic surgeries, she has recently admitted to having had botox. The former model said she had visited a cosmetic surgeon for years; however, she has yet to partake in the botox for about ten years since.

Cindy has said that “Because people have such expectations of what they are going to find when they see [her], that brings added pressure to fight the ageing process.” But even with those pressures Cindy seems to think she’s “holding together pretty good”. I can’t say too many people would disagree!

Before I tell you all this, let me just say I am not recommending this as a cure, it just happens to be a cool side effect. Recently reports have stated that people who underwent forehead lifts ended up significantly reducing the occurrence of migraines!

When a few people had the plastic surgery done for cosmetic reason, they reported the decrease in headache pain and immediately a doctor decided to figure out the cure. Now, they do the face lift at three specific pressure points to relieve the migraines. Not quite your over-the-counter remedy, and I’m not sure anyone should go this far, but I guess you never know.

Recently there’s been a new change in sentiment about the whole cosmetic surgery thing. There’s always been those people that swore by it, and even more that did it and lied, but now it’s this growing cultural phenomenon that just keeps on going. How can we tell? There’s a beauty pageant  in Hungary only for people who have had a major cosmetic surgery done. Yes, I said only for those who have had cosmetic surgery. And by major I mean having had at least local anesthesia, if not general!

I get why people have cosmetic surgery done, and I guess the whole pageant is just another way of gaining something off of the surgeries that won’t really stop anyway. But there’s something that seems a bit odd and a little creepy about the whole thing!

We always hear about all kinds of facebook drama, some of it much worse than others, and some that is just brutal. And to add to that list, the latest in facebook news: the woman who got plastic surgery because someone told her that her nose was too big via facebook!

The girl read the comment on her wall, and ran out of her door into that of a plastic surgeons office! One nose job later, the woman entered a beauty pageant and placed in the top three. Though the woman says that the commenter “did her a favor”, I think the story is kind of sad!
