Where were these 4-inch wonders when I was searching for a pair of metallic pink loafers to complement my brown plaid uniform skirt? Shoes make the man – err woman – and the man, Alexander Wang, has outdone himself this time. Fit for a turn-of-the-century Annie Hall, the Anais Metallic Leather Loafer Pumps have a sharp tongue and pointy, commanding toe. What’s not to love?

Set in the handsome surroundings of the Ace Hotel, the John Bartlett Consensus Collection for Bon-Ton Stores was unveiled. Under bright spot lights, three groups of men modeled three different styles that inspire the designer – university prep, rugged military and refined lumberjack. Available in August, these fashion-forward men’s collections will bring high-style to Bon-Ton department stores. Click for more photos and info on where to buy after the jump.

The warm months may have just ended, but our preppier indies are going to anticipate its return with Gilded Age’s Spring 2010 collection. With a casual, springtime collegiate vibe, many of Gilded Age’s pieces are very dress down to dress up type pieces. Wrinkly plaids were paired with suits while ties were worn loosened with button ups and hoodies to make for several comfortable, weekend businessman looks. Although this type of styling is nothing new to the fashion world, Gilded Age’s quality is unmatchable and can be comfortably, as well as fashionably, worn with just about any other piece in the collection.
Soho Grand’s outdoor lounge was the perfect venue for Gilded Age’s Spring 2010 show, allowing natural evening light to set the mood for men atop grass covered picnic tables. Complete with watermelons and lounge chairs galore, I might start missing summer more that you think!

Two things I am not: 1) Preppy. 2) Girly. But oh, this outfit makes me want to be a little bit of both! Besides being mesmerized by the perfection that is this girl’s layering/styling, I really love how she coupled a cropped jacket with a cardigan to make a faux-coat as well as her tights/knee-highs/Mary Janes combination.
Thanks Rackk and Ruin!
