I am thrilled that Rachel chose this Marchesa dress from the fall 2011 line – it was one of my favorites from the collection. She looks gorgeous, but I really wish her hair would have been up. I think that is such a huge factor in letting the statement factor of this dress shine through.

And guess who’s photographing? Inez van Lamsweerde et Vinoodh Matadin. Again, not complaining, but they too were the most frequently used photographers for Vogue covers in 2010.

Emmanuelle, please take these reigns you’ve earned, and steer. We love what’s been done, but please introduce us to something new.

The style of the 1940’s is a favorite of mine, which is probably why I loved looking at the many costumes seen in The Notebook.

Wardrobe always plays a role in defining someone’s social status, especially in period pieces like this. There’s a definite and distinguished difference between Rachel McAdam’s character’s upper-class style in contrast to Ryan Gosling’s more simplistic look.

Rachel’s character, Allie, wore some gorgeous hairpieces throughout the film that I would want to have on my head everyday. The Notebook makes me wish I was alive in the 40s just to wear Allie’s wardrobe. What was your favorite costume from the movie?

I have trouble not paying most of my attention to the costumes while watching a movie, and this was even more of an issue when I went to see Sherlock Holmes. Even though the film is set late 19th century London, I can still appreciate the style and design of the clothing shown throughout it. I especially loved the wardrobe of Rachel McAdam’s character, Irene Adler, which costume designer Jenny Beavan is responsible for creating. The stand-out piece was this magenta dress paired with a dark navy coat, which allowed the volume of the dress to stand-out through the back. This popping shade seemed to be the character’s signature color, appearing subtly on her lips and giving a feminine touch to one of her more masculine outfits.

Her wardrobe pieces are so diverse, ranging from very feminine to a more tough-girl look, and the magenta not only keeps the character’s many outfits cohesive, but also adds in a modern feel.

I absolutely loved the costumes and give props to Jenny for taking a risk by getting Sherlock out of his signature deerskin cap. The risk definitely paid off in the end.

As soon as my hair gets long enough I may even have to try this one! It’s always great to see hair and make up styles successfully make it from the runway to the streets, and that’s exactly what happened to the notorious braid from the Alexander Wang runway show.While I think I prefer the look with a more relaxed wardrobe (like the Alexander Wang collection), but as Rachel McAdams is proving it dresses up pretty well. Don’t let me down ladies, I hope to see a lot more of this running around Soho!

Rachel McAdams who’s best known for being the not so hot redhead from Wedding Crashers wore a dress and people feel the need to talk about it.

Aside from the fact that she’s obviously stealing from the closet of one of the chicks from Dynasty, there is nothing at all spectacular about this white on white snowblindness that’s going on here. Listen Eagles, skip the Vic and invest in this linebacker. Seriously, this girls got some major shoulder weight.

This is a subtle look for Lady Gaga, and I’m actually a fan…besides that tape on her boobs…seriously, why? Were there holes your dress that you’re trying to cover up? It reminds me of when Lindsay Lohan tries to punk Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls by cutting holes in her shirt, only to turn it into a big trend.  The Lady looks pretty classy otherwise, and although the studded motorcycle gloves are a bit crazy, I like them.

On a side note, I think she’s getting out of a minivan. hahaha.
