Pop-In to a UNIQLO Pop-Up Starting Right Now

As if UNIQLO wasn’t turning it out enough this summer with the High Line Roller Rink, the brand is constructing three pop-ups to celebrate the Flagships opening on Fifth Avenue at 53^rd Street and 34th Street Herald Square this fall. The UNIQLO pop-ups located in the Flatiron at 155 Fifth Avenue and at 1880 Broadway just opening, and they will be followed by a third location at 2385 Broadway opening mid-August. In addition to the amazing clothing and accessories we’ve come to expect from the brand, each location will feature a visually stimulating experience such as: luxurious cashmere collage mannequins, a snow machine testing the innovation in the Ultra Light Down items and a TV monitor chandelier showcasing the best in UNIQLO web design.

How’s that for a super sale? NYC based blogger and dated coach Yue wandering into Nordstrom Rack in Union Square with a friend to try on evening gowns for kicks. When the duo spotted this lovely Jessica McClintock strapless wedding gown, Yue decided to try it on, thinking the $0.01 price tag had to be a mistake. After realizing how flattering it looked, she asked how much the dress really cost. Lucky for her, there was a price discrepancy with the dress and should have never been on the floor. Yue bought the dress for a mere $0.01 but sees no use for it in her near future, so she wants YOU to have it. That’s right, want a free wedding dress? Click to find out more.

“Listen, I’m a single gal and though I see a wedding in my future, it’s not in the near future. I have no use for this beautiful dress. Not to mention that it’s taking up room in my tiny studio. If your invite to the Christian Louboutin sample sale got lost in the mail, not to fear! We have all of the information for the now not-so-under-the-radar sale right here on FashionIndie. But where should you go to snag all of the good pairs before the budding starlets do? Get the details after the jump.

The Christian Louboutin sample sale will run from May 17 to May 20 306 West 38th Street, 3rd floor. Tuesday is press day, but you can grab the shoes Wednesday 8-6, Thursday 9-5 and Friday 9-3. You will be able to snag your favorite pair for $400 or less, give or take, so make a run for it before Gossip Girl Blake Lively does. Apparently she bought 50 pairs before anyone else last year.

Carine Roitfeld Fired from French Vogue? Let the Speculation Begin!

The rumor mill continues to turn and behind the crank is none other than Racked, which claims that Carine Roitfeld‘s sudden departure from French Vogue last week was not made of her own volition.

Racked‘s “very well-placed” sources, claim:

[T]he magazine’s parent company was unhappy with all the bad press surrounding Roitfeld’s alleged pay-for-play scandals…demanding huge sums of money for extracurricular consulting gigs and the enormous, public embarrassment of being banned from Balenciaga last season for abusing her position at Vogue. In the latter case, Roitfeld allegedly borrowed Balenciaga preview pieces and sent them to her client, Max Mara, to copy…”

Then there’s that other scandal with ANDAM winner Hakaan:

“An angry anonymous letter, which was circulated among French media this week, asked “how a Turkish designer out of nowhere books Natalia Vodianova, Maria Carla Boscono, Lara Stone or Natasha Poly for his show—models asking €15.000 min per show, and who aren’t really famous for their charity!”

Roitfeld also made an unprecedented move by showing up to Hakaan’s first show with Kate Moss in tow. And then there’s that other scandal involving LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, who “allegedly threatened Conde Nast International Chairman Jonathan Newhouse with the removal of all LVMH ads from the next issue of” French Vogue after the last issue (edited by Tom Ford) apparently didn’t contain enough LVMH ad credits and exercised “poor taste” in this editorial.

As for rumors that Carine will be working with Ford on his new womenswear line, Ford recently told the New York Times Cathy Horyn:

“Carine and I have no plans to work together at the moment, and it is nothing that we have even discussed, but of course I think she is brilliant and we are close friends so who knows about the future.”

Well, I guess Heidi Klum‘s been right all along. In fashion one day you’re Anna Wintour and the next, you’re …Carine Roitfeld. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds, who will succeed Carine (Emmanuelle Alt is apparently not an option) and where Carine lands, besides inevitably on her stilettoed feet.

WTF!?! Crocs Go Converse

The last I heard of Crocs, they were going out of business, but according to this image released by our friends at Racked, they decided to mate with Converse and breed these hideous Crocverse shoes. I just don’t understand.

SALE: Kooba Handbags and Clothing 80% Off

The Kooba handbag and clothing sale going on in Midtown today and tomorrow is apparently worth going to.

A reader wrote to Racked: “I went to the Kooba sale this morning…it was unbelievable! There was barely anything over $200—most bags are around the $150-$175 range, and pouchettes are a mere $40! Leather jackets are $95. Samples are all under $150, and sample leather jackets are $40!!! Lots of awesome sample bags are around $100, and some are in perfect condition. A worker said they will be replenishing throughout the sale, including the samples. Oh, and clothing is priced from $20-$40. Definitely worth it!”
