Here’s how the blogger competition went down:

I was escorted inside Victoria’s Secret headquarters to a VS PINK Style Off. Pitted against other top bloggers and online fashion editors, we entered a room, across from their very own Starbucks, that looked like a beach. With glass jars of candy and hot man serving popcorn and mocktails (you can imagine the disappointment). Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk was there (gorgeously, naturally) to officiate the ceremony. A PINK bagful of spring break essentials for 10 of our readers, and one giant shopping spree for the winning blogger was at stake. Your spring break was on the line! I knew I had to win it for you, and for me, and for you. Well, the results are in, AND I WON!!! That means 10 of you are getting tricked out for Spring Break!!

It got all Hunger Games real quick: there was a cornucopia of bathing suits and accessories in the middle, and at an angelic, “Ready, Set, GO!” from Elsa, we had seven minutes to complete our task. I dashed forward, battling off girls from Cosmopolitan, Nylon, InStyle, Racked, StyleCaster, Hollywood Life and Modelinia (who turned out to be my staunchest competitor) and a dozen others, and fastidiously picked my look.

I grabbed the multicolor leopard top to offset the bright purple bottoms. Key wrap bracelets, a necklace, and a red ring embossed “Bad Girls” made it back with me. We each had a rack of signature PINK shorts, sweats, cropped tees and tanks to work from. In a Katniss-Rue moment of diplomacy, I made a trade with the People editor: the blue sweatshirt on my rack for the orange jean shorts on hers (who wears a sweater on Spring Break? C’mon People). With bikini, shorts and jewelry in place, I stuffed a bag with the essentials; a towel, snorkeling gear, a frisbee, a water bottle, and strapped a bra and panty to it for later. It’s in the details, kids. With a camera and headphones, she was ready for the beach. Just one question remained: “Where is the party?” Luckily, there was a neon pink shirt that asked that very question. I slung it over her shoulder, so the hotties on the beach would oblige.

After the competition cooled, the angelic Elsa Hosk took to styling her own spring break dream ensemble. It's a nice ombre, a warm purple at the bottom, easing it's way like a strawberry daiquiri up a crazy straw, umbrella included. To protect the fair skin, of course.

The Christian Louboutin sample sale will run from May 17 to May 20 306 West 38th Street, 3rd floor. Tuesday is press day, but you can grab the shoes Wednesday 8-6, Thursday 9-5 and Friday 9-3. You will be able to snag your favorite pair for $400 or less, give or take, so make a run for it before Gossip Girl Blake Lively does. Apparently she bought 50 pairs before anyone else last year.

Racked‘s “very well-placed” sources, claim:

[T]he magazine’s parent company was unhappy with all the bad press surrounding Roitfeld’s alleged pay-for-play scandals…demanding huge sums of money for extracurricular consulting gigs and the enormous, public embarrassment of being banned from Balenciaga last season for abusing her position at Vogue. In the latter case, Roitfeld allegedly borrowed Balenciaga preview pieces and sent them to her client, Max Mara, to copy…”

Then there’s that other scandal with ANDAM winner Hakaan:

“An angry anonymous letter, which was circulated among French media this week, asked “how a Turkish designer out of nowhere books Natalia Vodianova, Maria Carla Boscono, Lara Stone or Natasha Poly for his show—models asking €15.000 min per show, and who aren’t really famous for their charity!”

Roitfeld also made an unprecedented move by showing up to Hakaan’s first show with Kate Moss in tow. And then there’s that other scandal involving LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, who “allegedly threatened Conde Nast International Chairman Jonathan Newhouse with the removal of all LVMH ads from the next issue of” French Vogue after the last issue (edited by Tom Ford) apparently didn’t contain enough LVMH ad credits and exercised “poor taste” in this editorial.

As for rumors that Carine will be working with Ford on his new womenswear line, Ford recently told the New York Times Cathy Horyn:

“Carine and I have no plans to work together at the moment, and it is nothing that we have even discussed, but of course I think she is brilliant and we are close friends so who knows about the future.”

Well, I guess Heidi Klum‘s been right all along. In fashion one day you’re Anna Wintour and the next, you’re …Carine Roitfeld. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds, who will succeed Carine (Emmanuelle Alt is apparently not an option) and where Carine lands, besides inevitably on her stilettoed feet.

The Kooba handbag and clothing sale going on in Midtown today and tomorrow is apparently worth going to.

A reader wrote to Racked:  “I went to the Kooba sale this morning…it was unbelievable! There was barely anything over $200—most bags are around the $150-$175 range, and pouchettes are a mere $40! Leather jackets are $95. Samples are all under $150, and sample leather jackets are $40!!! Lots of awesome sample bags are around $100, and some are in perfect condition. A worker said they will be replenishing throughout the sale, including the samples. Oh, and clothing is priced from $20-$40. Definitely worth it!”
