With rumors circulating that Jil Sander‘s Raf Simons might be taking over at Christian Dior, at least one thing seems certain: Marc Jacobs doesn’t want the job. In the Meryl Streep-covered issue of Vogue, Jacobs says that he’s happy at Louis Vuitton and has been for a long time and that the idea of couture doesn’t really interest him.

The answer is a potential “Yup” — seems like Marc Jacobs is out and Raf Simons is in. Sources close to Christian Dior tell WWD that the luxury house is close to signing the Belgian designer, but there are a few obstacles in the way, such as Simons’ recently extended contract with Jil Sander.

At the glacial pace Bernard Arnault and co. are moving to replace John Galliano at Christian Dior, the ousted designer will have time to finish rehab, mount a comeback, and muck it all up again in another drunken, anti-Semitic tirade. The luxury brand has been in talks with Marc Jacobs for months, which have been less than smooth, but now it seems that Jacobs and Dior might be calling it quits.

As a Fashion photographer for 25+ years, I have had the privilege of being exposed to a wide panoply of incredibly talented photographers and fashion designers. There are several venues around the world that feature young up and coming artists, as well as confirmed professionals. One of the festivals that has been in existence for 25+ years as well is The International Fashion and Photography Festival of Hyères ,France. The Festival runs from April 29th to May 2nd 2011 and the Exhibition runs from April 30th to May 29th 2011.
