Drag & Drone With Rag & Bone
When I first heard that Rag & Bone was doing a spring footwear line, I was pretty excited. Honestly, what isn’t to love about tailored loafers, slipper-esque oxfords, and brogue-detailed ballerina flats, especially with spring trends heading back in time towards vintage basics? Well, the recently released peek at the slipper oxfords as well as the announcement of the price range completely eliminated my excitement. Sure, the designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville might claim that the shoes are of “good value” and constructed for the frequent walkers of New York, but $330-$515 for such basic shoes? I think not, my dears! Grab a pair of canvas Keds, a can of metallic spray paint, and make these shoes for less than $20 yourself! Sorry Rag & Bone, these shoes aren’t worth my money or my freezing cold feet come March!

BBlessing Fall/Winter 08 Collection
I had a chance to stop by the BBlessing store this past weekend and check out this line in person. The jeans are awesome. They aren’t terribly expensive, and when I first saw them amongst the stacks of Rag and Bone and Surface To Air jeans, I couldn’t tell them apart. The tops are great as well, fairly straight forward key pieces to a look. So be sure to get out to the boutique on Orchard St. and pick up the latest from BBlessing.
Thanks to Selectism for the pictures.

NY Fashion Week: Rag and Bone
Inspired by the British punk, mod and ska music scene, Rag and Bone literally (and figuratively!) rocked New York Fashion Week. From exposed zippers and checkered prints to distressed leather and tapered pants, this edgy and aggressive musical culture was transformed into tangible runway art. Despite Rag and Bone’s literal translation of the punky music scene, the collection bravely played with flirty miniskirts and preppy fitted blazers. Well done!
Thanks STYLE!

Elettra Wiedemann Launches JustOneFrickinDay

Phillip Lim

Elettra Wiedemann may be the daughter of Isabella Rossellini, BFF of Chris Benz, and a biomedical engineering student who has also recently founded JustOneFrickinDay.com, an organization that (among other projects) is raising funds to build the first solar-powered hospital in Kigutu, Burundi. Co-founded by James Marshall, the Burundi Solar Project has enlisted Chris Benz, House of Diehl, Rogan, Rag & Bone, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Giambattista Valli to each create an energy-inspired, limited edition t-shirt to be sold at JustOneFrickinDay.com.
The t-shirts, all made from 100% organic cotton, are available in men’s and women’s one size fits all and will sell for $60 each. There are only 100 available in each style, and each is numbered. A simpler style by House of Diehl, which served as creative consultants for the project, is also available for $30.

Rag and Bone Resort 09
When Marcus Wainwright and David Neville decided to create a resort collection, they had no clue what the results would be. They were grazed with a pleasant surprise. Marcus and David’s label, Rag and Bone, withholds a resort 09 collection abundant in creativity and timeless style. Dresses, shirts, coats and jackets sit upon the backs of models in confidence. Rag and Bone doesn’t always play it safe; their clothing is edgy in a way that doesn’t kill the outfit. The pieces are wearable, and thanks to two great designers with the ability to manipulate design and color, we’re liking what we see.
