We do take exception to the use of the word ‘rape’ to describe airport security procedures, because that is both unfair to security personnel who have a different purpose for touching people; and it also minimizes the experience of an actual rape, which is a very severe and traumatic form of violence.

The New York-based hairstylist, who has styled for Vogue and Ralph Lauren ad campaigns, was in London working the runway shows while Heidi was on assignment in Milan. The details of the woman’s allegations have not been released by police, but the New York Post reports that both Shawn and Heidi know the alleged victim.

Heidi–who replaced Claudia Schiffer as the face of Chanel in 2009, and has most recently walked shows for Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors, Rodarte, and Missoni–married Shawn in 2007. They have a 3-year-old son, Liam, and live in the East Village.
