HAIR HOW-TO:

Start by prepping damp hair with Arrojo styling creme. This product creates maximum texture with a strong hold and a light feel, wrap dry with a large paddle brush to create root lift and direction for your parting.

Once the hair is dry, part hair to the side starting at the front and pull your hair into a low ponytail. Tie your hair into a knot and securely pin with 1 or 2 Bobby pins, tucking in any loose ends.

The idea is to make it look relaxed and not overstyled. So if there are some wispy pieces, that’s ok! The most important thing is the prep of the hair with the styling creme so no pins slip out! You can finish with a spritz of Arrojo hair spray.

MAKEUP HOW-TO:

Start with a primer and tinted moisturizer from Smashbox Cosmetics. A soft cream blush from Stila dotted on the apples of cheeks and spread up towards the temple will create a natural flush. Follow with a highlight on the cheekbones as in “All Over Seduction” by Edward Bess.ni

For a smoky eye, a kohl liner works great and smudging any eyeshadow over it will intensify the look. Try Laura Mercier in Black Violet or Black Gold. Also for a subtle lip, her lip stain in Shy Pink is great on almost any skin tone.

As a final step, I use Kevin Aucoin mascara and clean up under the eyes with concealer.
