Bright red lips are an obvious trend for Fall 2012 – we’ve literally been seeing them at every other show. But a bit more brooding and certainly a big statement, gothic lips are going to be huge come the changing of the leaves. Tiered lace and dropped-waists were the first sights to be seen as models began gliding down the runway in Tadashi Shoji‘s Fall 2012 collection. Silk, chiffon and velvet followed, richly colored in green, red and blue jewel tones. Luc Bouchard and the MAC pro team created a clean, flawless face finished with a bright red lip. Hair was neatly and elegantly pulled into sleek low buns, ensuring nothing overshadowed the opulence of the collection.

With feathers surrounding her eyes and neck, red to match her full bold lip, Cody Young is a vision of obscure beauty for S Moda. Makeup artist Christelle Cocquet spared no stunning detail from rhinestone eyebrows to a glittering cherry pout. The manicure by Huberte Cesarion, featuring metallic gold mountain tips, is strange enough to transport your mind to a Lewis Carroll tale. All captured by Sathoshi Saikusa, this spread is just right for the mad.
