LINKAGE: Karen Walker Resort 09-10

Inspired by the landscapes, culture, and colors of Sardinia, Italy, designer Tamae Ishii translates the components of society and topography into a beautiful resort collection. Based on her muse- a non-specific modern day Renaissance women- newest collection holds tightly to her mantra of effortless sophistication for a worldly woman.

The color palette draws from the Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian Seas with the use of blues and turquoise and touches of fuchsia, yellow and green, reminiscent of Southern Italy.

An array of juxtaposing fabrics are incorporated into the collection from a mixture of structured linen and flowing silks and cottons mimicking the flowing lines of the ocean and the jagged coast. Tamae chose the abstract yellow leopard and silver foil prints to add a daring counterpart to the classic silhouettes. The garments were produced using all natural fibers for comfort and breath-ability.
