It is not often that I go to Brooklyn. Yes, I know how cool it is…and perhaps how cool I am not. Did I say that? Anyhoo, Juliette Lewis has been on a worldwide tour for her new album Terra Incognita. Her schedule reads like that crazy movie title from the 1960’s If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium. Fortunately, she is making a brief stop in New York, the Music Hall of Williamsburg to be exact, and I am running not walking to Brooklyn. I suggest you click here or on the image above to get whatever tickets might be left and join me for a boogie, over the river and through the…well…there are no woods in Brooklyn. However there is a tree….or so I have heard.

Natural Selection Denim AW10

Continuing along their path of evolution, Natural Selection Denim, have extended, upgraded, increased and developed for Autumn/Winter 2010, with their first full collection of men’s apparel, alongside their pure denim range.

For this season, the team introduced a new 13Oz Fabric made of Zimbabwean cotton from Nihonmenpu mills in Okayama Japan. This fabric is available in its raw form and also as a new wash, PILGRIM; a highly authentic wash which replicates a five year, vintage jean. Also added to the range is the DRIFTER wash featuring high contrast ‘skeleton’ whiskering, which has a three-dimensional visual impact.

Natural Selection have skillfully developed a range of apparel to sit alongside their denim, and from this season introduce two selvedge chino fabric pants from the Kuroki Mill in Japan. This is offered in a classic chino style and colour with subtle military detailing with a selvedge continuous fly, a world first innovation on a long lost heritage patent.

Within the apparel collection are the RIVER JACKET and STELLIFY JACKET. These are two deconstructed tweed jackets with contrast corduroy. Also included is the TIDE SHIRT which is deep indigo cotton /linen denim shirt with a contrast corduroy collar.

Browsing through shopstyle.com, I ran across some beautiful and reasonably priced pieces. That gorgeous necklace from Express is just $148…..definitely a standout piece! Bebe’s feather necklace is another “perfect statement,” and it retails for $65…..such detail! This is actually my first time seeing the Kardashian jewelry (I don’t know how I could have missed it, because I’m sure there was much fanfare surrounding it’s launch), and I really love their offerings. The designs have that kind of “medieval” vibe…..very unique. Mod Cloth’s River rapids necklace is $15.99 and the Romanova ring is $10.99…both look much more expensive. And that Fiona Paxton, she can do no wrong, as the beautiful pieces just keep coming! The Roarke fringe necklace is another “piece of spectacular,” with the bold colors of a scarf, and the look of a collar. I’ll just say it, they’re all fabulous!
