Long hair don’t care. #LHDC.  It’s a lifestyle.

Who are your style icons?

Rankin. Tom Ford. Whoever is responsible for the style of the male characters in Wes Anderson films… As far as artists I love Sky Ferriera‘s style throughout her whole career so far.

What are your plans for the summer?

Canoodling. Hedonism. Water ballooning high school kids in my neighborhood from my balcony. Continuing my ongoing, lifelong quest for the perfect tan.  Also I’m doing a music series called #longpopsummer that consists of covers like the Robyn cover, and some pop originals that are a little outside of my normal musical offerings.

Who are you music influences right now?

I went digging through all my albums recently in preparation for summer, I actually brought back the Twin Shadow album I was playing all last summer into rotation, there’s something about the way he effortlessly creates an 80s, totally indie vibe with no pop connotations whatsoever beyond general amazingness that I’m still obsessed with.

I can’t handle listening to club music outside of the the club/show atmosphere since I’m out doing shows so much so I’ve been listening to Explosions in the Sky constantly at home, they create these large walls of sound with epic, orchestral buildups that I feel has influenced the way I write and build up house music songs, I’m trying to break the structural formula of most club house music and use more drastic arrangement changes in new music I’m creating, and Explosions in the Sky is definitely an influence.

What bands/artists should we be looking out this summer?

The swedish duo Icona Pop has one of my favorite songs of the summer already, my friend DJ Louie XIV showed it to me a few weeks back, its called “I Love It” and I can’t see any reason why it won’t be huge all summer.

Alvin Risk is my favorite electronic artist right now, I caught a ton of buzz about him at Ultra this year, he has a sick live show and has just been turning out consistent great tracks.

I’m labelmates with a group called Solidisco that I’ve been playing out all the time, they make amazing house/electro remakes of disco and r&b tracks that’s a perfect NYC summer dance soundtrack.

What are 3 things most people don’t know about you? 

- A lot of people don’t know I’m originally from Hawaii, since I live in NYC now and Silver Medallion first found success in Arizona, but I grew up way into the reggae and beach life, and all the good things that come with it.

She recorded so much amazing material she had to spread it across 3 EPs and an LP, which is still going strong nearly 2 years later.

She's more or less been rocking the same hair for the past 15 years and it still looks great.

She's the anti-Katy Perry - she writes her own songs and can actually sing.

She turned her Indestructible video into a tube twisting science project.

She founded her own record label so no one could tell her what to do.

The name of said record label was inspired by a Dave Chappelle sketch, ("Konichiwa Bitches") Konichiwa Records.

She has a song called "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do" First lyric: "My drinking is killing me."

Fembots, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery   The sexy, swinging, shagadelic fembots from Austin Powers may have seemed soft and lovely on the outside, but they were cold and calculating on the inside. Swedish pop superstar Robyn, however, has some news for you. Fembots have feelings too.

The Terminator   You can call Arnold Schwarzenegger a lot of things these days. Fat being one of them. A dog perpetually chasing after a bone could be another. But back in the day, before he was Governator, he was the Terminator. And there has never been a sexier killing machine.

Rosie, The Jetsons Though she looks dated by today's standards, Rosie is classically robo-sexy. Plus you just can't program that kind of sass.

The Svedka Robot Aside from her technologically-perfect proportions, the Svedka Robot will also get us drunk meaning she's an early front-runner for our affections.

Pris and Rachael, Blade Runner Whereas Daryl Hannah's Pris is your "basic pleasure model" -- because in Blade Runner, Thundercats are apparently the height of sexy -- Sean Young's Rachael posses the cool, sexy sophistication of film noir heroines that came before her. Too bad both of them had their hotness replaced by batshit crazy.

Johnny 5, Short Circuit Perhaps not conventionally sexy, but try not falling for the loveable Johnny 5 when he comes "Aliiiiiiive."

Lisa, Weird Science Though I'm guilty of watching both the original John Hughes film and the USA Network series -- all five seasons of it -- Kelly Lebrock's Lisa takes the cake, if only for this suitable-for-every-occasion half-shirt and panty combo.

The Stepford Wives Whether you're a fan of the campy original or the even campier remake, there's something about these exquisitely-coiffed ladies of leisure that is practically perfect in every way...except that they might kill you. But that's a problem with, like, every robot.

Maria, Metropolis The original film robot, Maria's got that German expressionist hotness going for her, plus her incredible -- even by today's standards -- look has inspired everyone from Thierry Mugler to Janelle Monae.

Gay Robot Nick Swardson's brilliant mechanized creation has a serious robo-boner for dudes, but all Gay Robot wants is a guy who'll love him for him...and donate his balls to his robo-chin. If it's Ryan Phillippe, even better.

Following the announcement that Rihanna will be Vogue Italia‘s “Woman of the Year,” FashionIndie put together this retrospective from her last shoot with the Italian mag, with her  looking weirdly like Victoria Beckham for their September 2009 issue.The editorial shot by Steven Klein is entitled “Extreme Couture,” and we would expect nothing less from Rihanna. Bondage, sparkle pasties, pouring water out of back packs – it’s all there.

The new article from this year’s magazine calls her the “jewel in the crown of Jay-Z‘s stable” (Stable? Let’s not even get started on the fact that crowns and horses have nothing to do with each other), and also drops her full name, uddenly we’re glad that she went with her middle name. Two Robyn‘s with amazing music careers would just get a too confusing.

The magazine refers to her as an “independent, energetic fighting spirit” and claims that  ”she is currently the undisputed best contender to the role of queen of pop. You might wonder – wasn’t that supposed to be Lady Gaga‘s title? Not quite.” Them’s fighting words, Franca.

Strange article aside, Rihanna‘s black and white editorial from last year is still as fierce as she is, and we’re loving it.

Based on the info above one can see 2 obvious things: 1. it is going to be hot and 2. it’s going to be a mixed bag of artists. Because of this it is best to try to stay as cool as possible and genre neutral. Since it’s also the first day of the festival it’s best to play it cool and casual. Nothing says loser like trying to hard on a first day.

Casual can described at it’s best by wearing a tee shirt. In this case a graphic one with a V-Neck is preferable.  This Quiksilver tee is an amazing shade of grey and depicts the ease and breeze that is California.

It will be suicide to wear pants that whole weekend. That being said a laid back pair of shorts will do for this outfit. I picked out these Vince Seaside Stripe Trouser Shorts because they are summer weather ready and the stripes are a great and subtle outfit accent.

When it comes down to accessories go for color. Sperry is always a warm weather footwear staple so these Striper Laceless in a bright blue will do the trick. You need a timepiece to make sure you don’t miss your favorite act so this Micheal Kors watch kill keep you organized and stylish. To finish off your look throw on a pair of colored sunglasses. Since everyone and their mother will be doing a wayfarer look why not try a colored aviator such as this one from Ray-Ban.

The Swedish superstar’s Body Talk series was one (or rather three) of the best albums to come out last year and her epic ode to the self-samba, “Dancing on My Own” has yet to leave my iPod rotation. It warms what’s left of my heart to see her getting some much-deserved attention, especially after being snubbed this year at the Grammys.

Sidebar: I mean, really, Teenage Dream? But I promised myself I wouldn’t get too upset about it, especially after that incident last year with Taylor Swift.

Joining Robyn in Elle‘s “Music Issue,” out April 12th, will be the Messiah also known as Beyoncé, Florence Welch (of the Machine), hair-whipper Willow Smith, American Idol judge and apparently-still-a-”singer” J. Lo, the baddest bitch in the rap game Nicki Minaj, multi-hyphenate supermom Gwen Stefani, blue-eyed soul songstress Adele, Oscar and Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson, the incomparable Stevie Nicks and the Queen herself, Aretha Franklin.

That’s quite the line-up and the cover is quite a get for Robyn, who will also be performing April 11th as part of  Elle‘s second annual “Women in Music” event at the Music Box in Hollywood.

So West Coast gays, I expect you all to rally in support. After all, good pop music must be treasured and nurtured like the sequin-clad bird of paradise that it is.

Nicki Minaj‘s latest single from her platinum Pink Friday, the mid-tempo jam “Moment 4 Life” features Nicki as Cinderella and rumored beau Drake as Nicki’s Prince Charming.  Nicki is a variety of looks, from fairy godmother to some couture-esque creation with a lot of bustle and a lot of cleavage. And like all fairy tales, they both live happily ever after, wedding and all.

Robyn’s video for “Bad Gal,” a bonus track from her Body Talk Pt. 2 EP, is a more subdued affair. The clip was filmed in the south of France and features adorable producers Savage Skulls and Douster of Diplo‘s Mad Decent label. The video sees Robyn gyrating in a body conscious dress and cut-out jean jacket while Skulls and Douster randomly gallivant about the French countryside.

Check out these stylish ladies work it out and try not to shake your body at least halfway to the ground.

Swedish popstar Robyn just tweeted this photo of her on the set of Gossip Girl. Can’t wait to see this songstress perform.

Which singer would you love to see on the show?

Dita Von Teese, Katy Perry. Tokio Hotel, N.E.R.D, Estelle, Cyndi Lauper, Dangerous Muse,Robyn, Róisín Murphy, Yelle, Moby, Yoko Ono, and Katharine Hamnett are the celebrities joining H&M and Designers Against AIDS (DAA) for Fashion Against AIDS, to help fight the disease and raise youth awareness.

All of the celebs collaborated with H&M on designs for T-shirts, T-shirt dresses, vests and bodies. 25% of the sales price will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. The collection, in 100% organic cotton, for both guys and girls will go on sale in H&M’s youth DIVIDED department from May 28 2009.

Robyn (a 90′s VH1 star who found fame in Sweden and is now hitting a US comeback with a recently dropped album) makes me long for a game of strip poker. I’ve never played the game and feel that it’s become a bit of a throwback for games to play when you’re nice and tipsy. Can we bring this goodness back?
