Natalie Portman Loves Rodarte

Natalie Portman Loves Rodarte

Yesterday, we posted a style pic of Natalie Portman in Rodarte for Target (middle photo), and it’s not the first time she’s rocked a dress from Kate and Laura Mulleavy. Looks like it’s a love/love relationship between Natalie and the brand.

SHOP: Chanel Temporary Skin Art, $75

Of all of the ideas for potential tattoos I’ve had and drawings I’ve done, I have yet to get inked. I’m on the fickle side, and prefer to admire the tattoos of my friends, family and perfect strangers. That’s why  I was so intrigued to see temporary tats all over the Spring 2010 runways. Thank God, because I’ve been looking for an excuse to adorn myself with those stick-on tattoos from 25 cent machines for a while now…

At  Rodarte, models sported exaggerated tribal tattoos, while at  Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris,  models were sent down the runways with painted on jewelry, like edgy crosses and chains.

SHOP: Chanel Temporary Skin Art, $75

Tattoos at Chanel

If those ubiquitous  quarter-machine tats remind you too much of childhood or just seem a little too commonplace, snag a limited-edition pack of Chanel’s temporary designs. Les Trompe L’Oeil de Chanel Temporary Skin Art, which includes 55 designs, were crafted by Chanel creative director Peter Philips for the spring runway show. They will be sold at Chanel.com starting mid-February for $75.

COPYFIGHT: Rodarte For Mens Rips Off Junya Wantanabe

A watchful fashionizer has noticed that Rodarte’s new mens collection looks surprisingly similar to Junya Wantanabe’s mens runway collection from Fall 2006. Take a look for yourself and be the judge.

FIRST LOOK: Rodarte for Opening Ceremony

FIRST LOOK: Rodarte for Opening Ceremony

Rodarte has just released an exclusive collection of sweatshirts and tees for Opening Ceremony. The look is pretty basic and I’m sure the price is ridiculous, but I’m sure it’s worth the empty bank account for true Mulleavy fans.

FIRST LOOK: Rodarte for Opening Ceremony

Here are the details from the Opening Ceremony website regarding the collection:

Collaborating with two of our favorite artists, Autumn de Wilde – who has been documenting the sisters’ work since the line’s early days – and the ever wonderful David benjamin Sherry, the Rodarte sisters have managed to bring their artful influence onto everyday basics without compromising the effortless appeal of tees and sweats. It’s safe to say that the Radarte tee says it best.

Limited quantity available in stores only. Visit Opening Ceremony New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo to purchase.

Rodarte For Target Promo Video By Tavi

Rodarte For Target Promo Video By Tavi

Most people go through that awkward phase of braces and teenage angst in their middle school years – but not Style Rookie blogger Tavi Gevinson.  When not in school, this 13-year-old darling of the fashion world parties with the likes of Marc Jacobs, Margherita Missoni, and Alexander Wang. We only wish we were that cool at 13.  Tavi recently collaborated with the Mulleavys girls of Rodarte and Target to film this short video for their upcoming Target collection. How much longer until this line comes out again?
