WATCH: Kanye West’s Latest Fashion Foray, “Lost in the World” Music Video Directed by Ruth Hogben

Kanye West has teamed up with Webby Award winning SHOWstudio and acclaimed fashion filmmaker Ruth Hogben for his new music video, “Lost in the World.” Described as breaking “the mould of popular rap aesthetics,” the clip stars West — his face partially or entirely obscured for the duration — and six dancers matching the song’s intensity step for step and writhe for writhe. Featuring Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, “Lost in the World” is Yeezy’s fifth single from the Grammy-winning My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Hogben’s film for Gareth Pugh‘s spring 2012 collection was recently nominated in the fashion category at the Design of the Year Awards. All those accolades add up to a brilliant piece that not only “breaks the mould” of the traditional rap video but dances on its shattered remains. Check it out after the jump.

It’s been a few days since we’ve wanted to scream in Karlie Kloss‘ face — out of love — but we knew it wouldn’t be long before there was something worth yelling about. In SHOWstudio‘s latest film series, “Fashion Fetish,” women in fashion — including Daphne Guinness, Lily Donaldson and Amanda Harlech — create performances and multi-media pieces “that comment on the contentious and provocative fusion of fashion with fetish.” Here, filmmaker Ruth Hogben directs Karlie, Ms. Kloss ’cause we’re nasty, playing with herself in Fuck Me. If the title doesn’t say enough, kinda NSFW.

In this dark, perspective-twisting, wind throwing world of Gareth Pugh, we glimpse in flashes his Fall 2011 collection. Right angles piece together, dancing in the windstorm. A floor length rectangular coat dances high, expanded with the air of the future. Bodies twine in the skintight textured stretch, as the concept molds before our eyes. Geometric golden folds build, balancing the flutter of rumpled silks. Take this collection in blinks.

The film, filmed by Ruth Hogben features Natasa Vojnovic and was debuted at the Pitti Uomo tradeshow in Florence. Digging the music? The song is Ascension by Wojciech Kilar.

It has been in the works for a long time but finally SHOWstudio has launched the Insensate; a two minute short film by Nick Knight and filmmaker Ruth Hogben which was filmed during the cover shoot for the October issue of Dazed.

A gothic fairyland was conjured up and taking center position is Gareth Pugh’s autumn winter 2008 collection. The film’s soundtrack has been specially devised by artist Matthew Stone.
