The style of the 1940’s is a favorite of mine, which is probably why I loved looking at the many costumes seen in The Notebook.

Wardrobe always plays a role in defining someone’s social status, especially in period pieces like this. There’s a definite and distinguished difference between Rachel McAdam’s character’s upper-class style in contrast to Ryan Gosling’s more simplistic look.

Rachel’s character, Allie, wore some gorgeous hairpieces throughout the film that I would want to have on my head everyday. The Notebook makes me wish I was alive in the 40s just to wear Allie’s wardrobe. What was your favorite costume from the movie?

I just wanted an excuse to post the first photos of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams together again. I’m not a big fan of the movie The Notebook, although I am a big fan of them. Here they are in Toronto looking sickeningly cute. Again, Gosling and McAdams are, proving my point that with the right attitude, in this case insane adorable love, you can wear anything and it looks good.
