Miami’s Art Basel collects some amazing work from artists like Ryan McGinley and Ryan McGuinness, but it’s these Doc Marten x Submersive shoes that really have everyone talking. The shoes are part of a high concept vending machine in the Mondrian Hotel. I love the jewelry around the back, but don’t know how I feel about the white boots.

Call me biased, Ryan McGinley is one of my favorite photographers, but this ad is amazing. The sense of motion successfully highlights the fluid nature of the clothing and the outdoor pick up truck is a refreshing change from the over played white studio walls. It’s great that the fashion world is embracing a photographer with a down to earth aesthetic.

Hipster photographer and New York personality Dash Snow is dead. Heroin overdose. Really sad. He was 29. Stop being idiots people. Drugs kill. It’s not cool. Being dead sucks so start wearing condoms and skip the heavy drugs. Of course according to Corey, Dead Snow, that movie about Nazi was zombies, so good job Dash, you gave us a perfect title for talking about an awesome movie. Good thing to do before you died.

P.S. Can someone hug Ryan McGinley right now? Say it’s from me.

Ryan McGinley’s ads for Levi’s cater towards a young audience combining his care free aesthetic with Levi’s American heritage. These serene ads make me want to buy a pair of Levi’s, travel to the country side and roll in the mud. Something I’ve never wanted to do before: props Levi’s, props.

Her breakthrough sequin jackets and intricate dresses are favorites of young stars already and the campaign for her Spring 2008 Collection was shot by the credited Ryan McGinley.

Mag Hag: French Vogue Sept

Raquel Zimmerman is the star of the Sept issue of Vogue French. Shot by fame photographer Ryan McGinely and obtained by Gold Digger, this spread leaves us with much to question.

First, why is she wearing crocs in a Vogue issue? NY Mag also pointed this out, and we agree…Where was Carine Roitfeld when this was shot? Cuz even Lady Wintour wouldn’t allow this..

Secondly, why does she look like Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil? With cave like backgrounds and zombie like expressions.

Lastly, Raquel is one of the most beautiful and stunning models on the runway, so why did the photographer make her look so coked out? She clearly is not the best for this type of spread. I understand that she is a model and must have some diversity, but she looks like Cory Kennedy, which is never a good thing.

Sigur Rós, “Gobbledigook”

Sigur Ros has released a new video which is a collaboration with photographer Ryan McGinley, whose photos of naked, thin younguns has gotten much praise and indie love. The video much like the artists work is all about running around ass naked.
