It’s officially the future, but color us disappointed. We’ve got a black president, handheld computers and weapons of mass destruction, but what about what else was promised to us by sci-fi films and Saturday morning cartoons. We see nary a flying car. But more importantly, where are the robots, the androids and the bionic men and women? On the one hand, they’re the harbingers of humankind’s downfall. But on the other, they’re the sexy, sentient superbeings here to fulfill our every desire. A good idea in theory, but amazingly creepy in practice. These robots, however, keep our hope of a future rife with robosexual adventure alive and mechanically kicking.

Fembots, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery The sexy, swinging, shagadelic fembots from Austin Powers may have seemed soft and lovely on the outside, but they were cold and calculating on the inside. Swedish pop superstar Robyn, however, has some news for you. Fembots have feelings too.

Celebs Celebrate Joseph Abboud Watch Collection In LA

On Thursday, June 16th, luxury menswear brand Joseph Abboud and Esquire magazine hosted an intimate cocktail party to celebrate the launch of their watch collection at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

Guests included Ryan Phillippe, David Arquette, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Jonas, AnnaLynne McCord ,Trevor Donovan, Samantha Ronson, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Colton Haynes, and Amber Rose. The tunes were provided by DJ Paul Sevigny and a musical performance by special guest Hugo.

The Joseph Abboud watch collection will debut Fall 2011 at better retailers of fine men’s watches throughout the US. We are huge fans of the brand. We even got a chance to interview its Creative Director, Bernardo Rojo, not too long ago!

- Christie’s is rumoured to be auctioning off Dame Elizabeth Taylor‘s legendary jewelry collection, at one time valued at $150 million. I’d like to put in my initial bid for the 69-carat Taylor Burton Diamond. Let’s just take a quick look-see at the ole bank account…is $41.57 enough? [People]

- Some bitter queens at Chanel USA apparently had some “grumblings” over Gossip Girl star Blake Lively being named the brand’s Purse Ambassador — considering her look “off-brand.” Karl Lagerfeld, meanwhile, immediately had the disgruntled employees taken out back and turned into Chanel quilted handbags that he later gifted to Blake as a token of his esteem. - Beyoncé has dropped her father Matthew Knowles as her manager after overseeing her career from Destiny’s baby to an Independent Woman [Part 1]. Now if only we can convince her to drop her mom Tina as a stylist…and then maybe bomb the House of Dereon…we can get the U.S.S. Fierce back on course. [Popeater]

- For Halloween, an industrious British gay — I’d say “flaming fag” but that’s completely something else over there — super-glued a tiny sequined hat to his adorable little, queer head. When the hat wouldn’t come off he visited the ER where they mercifully cut off part of the chapeau, leaving only the brim which came off hours later. Personally, I don’t see the problem with a tiny sequined hat permanently affixed to my head. Some say problem, I say party…24-7. [Huff Po]

- Talking plastic replicas of Jean Paul Gaultier and some of his famous clients will adorn the designer’s retrospective at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal this June. Also on display will be Madonna’s famous conical bras which you can use to pierce those talking plastic replicas in their creepy talking plastic faces. [The Cut]

- Reese Witherspoon got married to someone who’s not Ryan Phillippe so I clearly don’t care, but seems someone couldn’t help stealing the spotlight; among the guests at the wedding were new couple, Oscar-winner Sean Penn and Tony-winner (that must be a type-o) Scarlett Johansson. Let’s see, Sean Penn doesn’t have the greatest track record with women, so I’m just going to sit this one out and wait for the inevitable police report. [Popeater]

1. Zac Efron: Musical male

2. Chase Crawford: Replacement for musical male, hot gossip male

3. Chad Michael Murray: Veteran male…how many seasons of One Tree Hill have there been?

4. Ryan Kwanten: Aussie male

5. Jesse McCartney: Musical male pt 2, also turned actor?

6. Chris Evans: Shirtless male. I literally could not find a picture of this guy with his shirt on.

7. Chris Pine: Chick flick turned Trek male

8. Channing Tatum: What all these males would look like with muscles male

9. Tom Welling: Supernatural male

10. Ryan Phillippe: Original male (R.P. started out the male trend, without him, what would all of these other males look like!)
