Gwen Stefani revisited familiar territory with her spring 2012 L.A.M.B. presentation — lots of tribal and animal prints, jumpsuits and booty shorts for days. She definitely has an aesthetic and it works for her. Nothing revolutionary but Stefani’s Harajuku girl has been hanging out with some tough Banjee girls from around the way and as a result this collection is a little more street but still pretty chic.

Color Palette: Greys, blacks, plaids, leopard and zebra prints for days.

Mood: A mix of Daphne Guinness and Diane von Furstenberg for the coolest bitch in the room.

Statement Pieces: I wanted pretty much everything in this collection — particularly a cream jumpsuit with gold grommets and a dramatic striped cape.

Front Row: Eschewing her usual runway theatrics, Gwen opted for a low-key presentation but there was a crying toddler that stole a lot of attention.

Gossip: Models were switched out with different looks every now and again but some photogs missed out due to security rushing them out.

Runway Music: A little Santogold and Biggie‘s “Juicy” bumped from the walls.

This rainbow-colored, fishscale onesie should have never seen the light of day let alone an audience. I know she’s trying to be “different”, but Santogold’s attempt at originality makes me question her soundness of mind, if not whether or not she’s just trying to look ugly. After all, it’s always the one’s who end up on the worst dressed list that look the most interesting, right? I’m all for stepping outside the box, but I’m also an advocate for clothes that actually flatter and compliment, not distract and repel. As hideous as it is, this could have worked had it not been for that awful cowl turtleneck and lemon cake batter flats.
