Question of the Day: Did Vivienne Westwood personally write the note sent to Carrie in the film?

According to British Vogue, she certainly did

“When everyone’s favorite sex columnist tears open a giant box to find the fairytale Westwood wedding dress in which she had posed for a Vogue shoot, it is accompanied by a note of best wishes that the designer herself provided.”

To celebrate the release of the film, Vivienne Westwood’s Conduit Street store showcased the gold-backed ivory silk satin duchess gown, which is from the autumn/winter 2007-8 collection, in its window. The design to covet for the most stylish brides-to-be, it is made to order at Vivienne Westwood Couture and Bridal, just in case anyone of you indies wants it.

The end of SATC is nowhere in sight, and even after the movie was bashed by every acclaimed publication, big name companies are still finding ways to incorporate the movie/SJP/designer shoes into their marketing campaigns. Bergdorf Goodman has even cleverly created window displays as a re-make of the wardrobe Big created for Carrie during the movie with the heels (now on a waiting list) presented in the center. Very cleaver indeed.

So the SATC movie has done more damage than we had originally thought. Women younger and younger are wearing heals to look like the SATC girls (that’s what I think) AND now so are their babies. Yes, babies are now wearing heels, we have to start them early so that by 10 they can be wearing 5 inch Louboutin’s. Here’s a  funny description from their website:

It is here, the SATC Book (the first of which was published after the show ended), which gives the audience a play by play recap of the plot, pages of quotes, and details of every single outfit worn in the movie. So basically, if the movie was not ‘advertisement plenty’ enough, you can buy the book to make sure you didn’t miss any details of a certain shoe or necklace.
