The Material Girl's backup dancers in "Girl Gone Wild" are none other than Ukrainian dance-pop outfit Kazazy, who're known for their immaculate collection of heels, moves and splits. Their video for "Love" shows them at their finest and hottest.

- Vogue Italia‘s “Haute Mess” editorial has been accused of being “insensitive and condescending towards low-income stereotypes.” Meanwhile, those low-income stereotypes have been setting trends for ages so the only insensitive thing is the lack of royalties. - Take a walk in Kate Middleton‘s shoes when the Duchess of Cambridge‘s go-to supplier of sensible wedges, L.K. Bennett, opens its first store in New York. [Racked]

- How…reductive. Madonna recycled some unused “Vogue” footage, threw in top models Sean O’Pry and Jon Kortajarena making out over an apple, added Simon Nessman and Rob Evans to round out her cougar gang bang party and called it her “Girl Gone Wild” video.

- It’ll be a Black Swan sequel of sorts when Oscar-winning prima ballerina Natalie Portman reunites with her co-star/choreographer/baby daddy Benjamin Millepied and Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy –  for the New York Ballet’s Spring 2012 Gala. [Elle]

- Marc Jacobs continues to generally not give a fuck. In a recently-released profile in Time, Jacobs addresses his controversial use of underage models, saying, “You have child actors and children who model for catalogs…What’s the difference between doing a commercial for peanut butter and being on a runway?” Well, less cocaine, for one. The designers employed trusted nose Olivier  Polge, the perfumer behind Flowerbomb, to concoct its masculine equivalent. Polge conceived an “addictive” but “explosive” juice , where the addictive was fiery and the explosive icy. The former consists of notes of chili, saffron, leather, tobacco, and vetiver while the latter has notes of bergamot, grapefruit, elemi, and pink pepper.

Going full tilt with the whole bomb theme, the bottle is in the shape of a grenade while the in-store displays will resemble the aftermath of an explosion — featuring what Viktor & Rolf’s general manager refers to as “exploding shelves.” Gripping the grenade pin in his teeth in the fragrance’s forthcoming ad campaign is top model Sean O’Pry, photographed by another dynamic duo, Inez and Vinoodh.

While the industry is dominated by doll-faced, lanky females, male models with more classic looks tend to be the most successful. In the midst of a recession, agencies have had to renew older contracts to save money, thusly narrowing the types of men represented. The Cole Mohrs and Ash Stymests, although trendy “image guys,” tend to fall once they’ve been used and seen enough. In addition, those who have been branded to a fragrance campaign tend to endure a low profile in the industry since such campaigns are so publicly widespread.

I’ll admit, it is a bit disheartening to see some of my favorites so low, or even nonexistent, on the list, but based on magazine covers and spreads, advertising campaigns, contracts and runway shows over the past two years, here is Forbes’ most successful male models:

Sean O’Pry was shot by Minoru Kaburagi for Bon International’s spread “Othello.”  The photos of O’Pry’s back appear weirdly woman-like, but the finely structured menswear and perfect bone structure of O’Pry can only make me think “ohhh my” (In a good way, obviously.)
