How to Transform Fall Trends into Spring

Extending your clothing from Spring to Fall is relatively simple – they become your bottom-most layers as you build above them for the cold. But what about Fall into Spring? Those pieces are thick and warm, often too much so for the weather. It’s tricky, but I’ve plucked out some pieces you might have scooped up this fall, and I’ll show you how to work them into your wardrobe this spring.

Long Sleeves:

So 90′s but like totally, whatever. You can take it with you. Tie it around your waist. A slim long sleeve or button up will make a fabulous belt as you wait for the nightly chill. Plaid is rad. Iceberg is cool.

Oversized blazer:

A bulky blazer, especially in tweed like this Sonia Rykiel, can be quite warm. Just remember that your office might be quite cold and air-conditioned. I showed you how to take your look from office to party with an oversized sport coat. Use yours from fall.

Cape:

Ah that cape you invested in like this Hussein Chalayan piece that made the perfect top layer to seal in extra warmth is now your only source of cover. No, you’ll be dressed underneath, but keep it the layers light, and the bottom tight.

Wide Leg:

These Matthew Ames pants are more of a harem while Behnaz Sarafpour works it wide, but any pant with volume (and light enough texture) can stay a staple in your wardrobe as we move into summer. Pants like this would werq at work.

Crop Top Sweater:

Timo Weiland has sandwiched this thick knit crop top between a button down and a heavy coat. For spring, take those layers away and rock the crop with a high waist skirt or shorts. Throw a bandeau underneath for that extra in-case-I-get-warm layer.

How to Survive Snowpocolypse 2

Hundreds of birds drop dead from the sky in Sweden and Kentucky. 40,000 crabs die, washed ashore in the UK. 100,000 drumfish lay dead seaside in Arkansas, and over 2 million fish floated belly up in the Chesapeake Bay. Something seriously freaky is going on in the world, and it could only mean one thing: Snowpocolypse 2 is coming.

This is not a joke, New York. Prepare, for we are getting inches, no, feet! of white (and soon-to-be black) precipitation, sure to snuff out sanitation service again. Arm yourselves now with the proper tools to get you through such another blizzard.

If you think you’ll need to get somewhere quick, or don’t want to give up your morning central park jog, get these Adidas by Stella McCartney sneaker/snow-boot hybrids.

Just trying to curl up inside and sit with cocoa and Kahlua till the storm passes? I’d prefer a cape like this See by Chloé Reindeer (this season, too, shall pass) Cape, as opposed to the Snuggie. Your blanket doesn’t need arms, you need a cape.

RANDOM COOL: University of Nowhere Tee

So I actually couldn’t find any info on any designer that goes by University of Nowhere, but then again, maybe this is just a random tee shirt. Then I thought; isn’t the model Laetitia Costa? Which means that the tee must be important, especially since the shorts are SEE by Chloe?

UPDATE: The shirt is from parisian brand APC. Love it.
