Salvatore Ferragamo‘s Fifth Avenue was abuzz last with an exclusive presentation of the 2011 Resort collection; Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti’s second and highly anticipated WRTW collection for the House.Resort looks were exclusively styled by W Mag to celebrate the 2011 collection. Drinks were flowing as DJ Kiss kept spinning hits as guests such as Selita Ebanks and Tinsley Mortimer tuned in. In addition W also provided complimentary issues which featured a nude Kim Kardashian on the cover. (Daniel stole mine, don’t tell Becks!)

It wasn’t all fun and games because a percentage of the evening’s sales were donated to New Yorkers for Children to improve the lives of youth in foster care in New York City.

It’s no secret that even some of the most perfect bodies get airbrushed and loaded with makeup. We’re all pretty aware that when we’re flipping through a magazine the flawless supermodels may not be as close to perfection as they appear. But the runway is the one place people get to see these models up close in person, and though they look just as fabulous on the catwalk, there seems to be a reason for that as well. Again, leave it to makeup. Supermodel Selita Ebanks says of the Victoria’s Secret fashion show,  it’s “all about creating the illusion of this amazing body on the runway…People don’t realize that there are about 20 layers of makeup on my butt alone.” A project the supermodels say takes well over an hour, with three to five hair and makeup artists per model!
