When It Comes to Fur, Fendi’s Got No Seoul

Fendi and the Seoul government have been unable to come to an agreement over the use of fur in an upcoming fashion show in the South Korean capital which may lead to the show’s cancellation.

The show, scheduled for June 2nd, was meant to “promote Seoul to the world,” according to Joseph Sung, a Seoul government official, but local civic groups won’t let the fur fly. Says Sung, “The [animal lovers] are against it.”

A house spokeswoman insists, however, that fur is “part of the DNA of Fendi” and they are staunch in their position. Understandably so, as all the time and energy Karl Lagerfeld put into personally strangling those baby animals — he’s very hands on when it comes to design — would be for naught. [WWD]

Prada recently contracted innovative architect Rem Koolaas to design the Prada Transformer, an incredible space which can morph into a rectangle, hexagon, cross or circle, depending on the type of event it is hosting. Once each month, the building will literally transform to reveal a different cultural program. Whether it be art, a film screen or a fashion exhibit, the Prada Transformer sounds worth the $8000 first-class tickets to Seoul…one way.
