10 Fashion Feats and Fails at the Met Costume Institute Gala

Edited by

The Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s annual Costume Institute Gala is tirelessly referred to as the Oscars of fashion and it certainly ranks as the industry’s glitziest and most glamorous night.  But unlike the Oscars red carpet, where actresses willfully play it safe for fear of a career-defining performance on the worst dressed list, at the Met Gala the balls are to the haute couture wall. This is Fashion with a capital effin’ F. Sometimes the results are truly stunning and other times they’re…how can I put this gently…god-awful. Let’s take a look back at the Met Gala’s greatest hits and misses.

Serving at the MC2 Model Management Party

Edited by

Last night Mac, FashionIndie’s leggy office manager Jessy and I stormed MC2 Model Management‘s party at the soon-to-be-open Catch in the Meatpacking District to celebrate iconic model booker Pink‘s birthday. British Council of Fashion Designers Play a Love Game at Wimbledon

Edited by

The 125th annual Wimbledon tournament began yesterday with much hoorah from the fashion world. Just the other night, the women of the Women’s Tennis Association gathered for a pre-competition gala at The Roof Gardens in Kensington and the British Council of Fashion Designers rallied around of the tennis stars. QUEST: Whos Going To Be The Best Dressed Player At The U.S. Open?

This week marks the start of the U.S. Open tennis championships in New York City. With a regular cast of fashionable characters in the crowd, such as Anna Wintour, we want to know who you think the most fashionable ON the court? My vote is for Roger Federer due mostly to the fact that Nike hooks him up hard, but those Williams sisters usually bring something good as well.

What do you say indies?

White Hot Wimbledon

Wimbledon 2008 was simply thrilling.  Although tennis was the main attraction, fashion stole the show. At the summer tournament, white is always the staple. Players abided and contributed to the preppy vibe by sporting cardigans, blazers and totes.

Thankfully Wimbledon’s classy reputation worked symbiotically with new fierce fashion decisions. The world class Wimbledon players tested the conservative waters as they strutted onto the court with their controversial fun fashion choices.
