Sesame Street has released a video featuring quite the catchy tune. The song aims to teach black girls to embrace their hair! They even feature a number of styles toward the end of the video. Check it out here!

Meanwhile, don’t these “models” look like the Canal Street knock-offs of Cheyenne Jackson and ScarJo, or is it just me?

When the Sesame Street folks tested out a video of Katy Perry on YouTube they received quite the negative feedback. The video features the star singing with Elmo in an edited version of “Hot N Cold” as she plays dress up. Result? A ton of unhappy parents. Apparently Katy’s dress-up clothes didn’t cover her up enough and The Sesame Workshop released the following statement:

“‘Sesame Street’ has a long history of working with celebrities across all genres, including athletes, actors, musicians and artists. ‘Sesame Street’ has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver. We also value our viewer’s opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of ‘Sesame Street,’ which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube.”

Celebrating Sesame Street‘s 40th anniversary, American Apparel the California-based clothing company will release a “limited-edition”  t-shirt that will feature line drawings of Jim Henson‘s characters.

My beloved past time Jim Hensen characters of The Muppets and Sesame Street, are to be feature on American Apparel tees. Not sure if I feel to comfortable with Dov Charney pimping-out my puppet friends. Wait, I can see it now Bert and Ernie plastered on a tee that a jailbait porn-stars is modeling. Being that there’s still a much younger generation that still watches them, this idea does not seem very tactful.

Dov, I’ve heard you don’t even have permission to print the Hensen.

Gawker Stalked

We aren’t exactly thrilled that he got it first, but Perez Hilton was sent over a new spread from the Harper’s Bazaar September issue featuring designers Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenburg, Vera Wang, Derek Lam, Thakoon Panichgul, Francisco Costa, Carolina Herrera, and Rodarte‘s Kate and Laura Mulleavy alongside the Muppets from Sesame Street.  Coco Perez made his first mistake by not crediting the photographer, but we aren’t able to leave a comment complaining.
