Last night fellow editor Samantha Lim and I ventured to the West Side to see Persol unveil the first of three installments in its PERSOL MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS: 30 Stories of Craftsmanship in Film exhibition series.

The Reformation, named for both Martin Luther’s Reformation to a simpler approach, and for the concept of reforming vintage clothes, is a favorite among reformed shoppers like Leighton Meester, Emma Roberts, and Shenae Grimes. Their reasons for shopping The Reformation on the regular could be its low environmental impact from only using vintage clothing and dead stock fabric, or the one-of-a-kind quality of it being made by hand in-house, or the sexy effects of lace, washed silk, breezy prints and zippers. All of those points and more have driven Fashion Indie to it, making this week’s Boutique Critique sustainably sexy.

The 90210 actress looked laid-back chic on the red carpet with a tuxedo inspired jacket, slouchy jeans and simple white tee. While we’re usually not a big fan of hot girls wearing dorky, horn-rimmed glasses—we all know those aren’t prescription lenses, c’mon– we have to admit Shenae looks pretty cute. Not to mention, those shoes.

Last Saturday, I went to the Elise Overland Fall/Winter 2010 show. I have to confess that I never heard of her before (remember I’m from France) but when I saw so many celebrities arriving, I felt ashamed that everybody knew the designer but me.
I didn’t really like the collection, probably because of what the designer said about her inspiration: “My friend sent me a video of an open heart surgery he watched. I got inspired by the lushes layers of texture and rich glossy colors of the heart.” … WEIRD!
But I got to meet Shenae Grimes From 90210,who sat front row with Heidi Klum, Kelli Osbourne, Peaches Geldof, Malin Akerman and others, she’s lovely!

Shenae Grimes is in my own personal hall of fame of terrible fashion. She lets herself out of the house like this?
I understand she’s just trying to hit up the supermarket, but in West Hollywood on a Sunday, did she expect to go unnoticed?
The outfit actually kind of works if you scroll up slowly (although I go for a jean with a much darker wash). But as soon as you get to that headband…

90210 star Shenae Grimes was snapped shopping at Pier 1 Imports Tuesday with nothing of reedeming fashion value. Fugly shirt, fugly tights-for-pants, fugly boots, and fugly Mom shades.
Hm, cute bag though.

I guess if you are going to be cast in a show about Beverly Hills you have to actually look like you live there. There is no way that Shenae Grimes has made enough money from 90210 already to have hired a stylist, so she either has one on lease for now, or she made more money than we thought be a bitchy teen on Degrassi. Either way she looks good now and definitely got her act together.
p.s. Has anyone seen the new 90210 yet? Is it worth my time?
