If Rupert Sanderson is right about Asians having “differnt” feet, the company may have hit upon an insane business opportunity. Think about it. Home to 1.5 billion people, China is one of the most populous places on earth. All those people have feet. All those feet need shoes.

Hand-finished silkscreen print on archival art paper with 10 color variant acrylic and spray paint, signed, numbered and thumb-printed by the artist himself. Sound cool? Um, is the sun hot right now? (Yes.)

It’s a bit cruel to dangle a summer shoe in front of you at this point in the season?but this one was too good to pass up.

The shoe is from a French brand called Rivieras, and it’s got just about everything we want in a beach shoe: jute soles, a mesh upper and a playfully colorful look. The French connection means you’ll be the only one at the beach who’s got them?provided you’re willing to brave the shoe size conversion.

2011, here we come.

When I first saw this Dolce Vita shoe among the spring offerings, I didn’t really warm to them. I just happened to be browsing through Marshalls this week and there they were on display….I immediately changed my mind about them! As I dug through the boxes, the largest size that I could find was a nine. I’m usually a nine, but when I tried the shoe on, I had a little “toe over hang.” Of course that wouldn’t do, so I had to leave without them. They do have them at Macy’s for $89, but the ones at Marshalls are just $39.99….darn the luck!

I bought this Kensie Girl sandal from Belk….Belk has one of the best end of the season sales, especially on shoes. I fell in love with the color, as I’ve been buying a lot of gray pieces that I knew would look good with them. I didn’t get to wear them though…..I showed them to my sister and ended up giving them to her. I didn’t mind….I can easily find another pair. (picture taken from dillards.com)

I bought this shoe (in black nappa)last Saturday at my favorite store. Zappos has them for $134, down from $229. I was lucky enough to get them for $49. (picture taken from zappos.com)

I ordered these Nicole Millers from J.C. Penney…..the stores in my area were all out of this color. They call in “black,” but as you can see, it’s more of a pewter.

Drawn by the stud detail, I purchased this pair from Burlington….The look so…..good on!

This is pair that I bought from T.J. Maxx yesterday. They were only $16.99, but to me they look much more expensive…..especially with all of the detail.

This pair and the next are both by Rocket Dog and I found them yesterday at my favorite store for $9 each. I needed a more casual, gold metallic pair and these certainly fit the bill. The other pair caught my eye due to their kind of, rustic and distressed look. They are super, super, comfortable!

I love Tristan Blair, the shoes are remarkable and the color combinations are just divine (coral/salmon, with the gray and black). There is also a great mix of designs to choose from, the high heel, the bootie, and my fave, the men’s inspired oxford.

Although this trend has been around since last season, a recent trip to Forever 21 has proven the gladiator sandal’s status as official. Albeit cheaper, and therefore more likely to collapse at the most inconvenient of times, they were nonetheless cute. It wasn’t love at first sight when I first caught glimpse of the Balenciaga knee high version–atrociousness was more like it. But as new variants pop up all over the scene, I’ve become thoroughly enamored with their versatility and how they make an outfit seem so chic. I’m obsessed right now with BIBA’S tobacco high-heeled gladiator that I would gladly skip my car payment to own them. Great for summertime toes, they look best with mini hemlines (i.e. short shorts, mini skirts and dresses), and slim jeans.
